  1. EMI distributed label ones usually are, but Pye label ones, more are solid than push out. Besides, Stateside 1st press - all Stateside records are 1st presses with the exception of Our Love Is In The Pocket and a couple of others. No demand to do a second run.
  2. I don't get what you mean Bob. How can a demo be a second press?
  3. Gilded Splinters would put it at 69/70 then, but I'm still not convinced the BB would have let that through, and it looks like Beat Club
  4. I sold a cracked copy of Mr Lucky - I Was Born To Love You - for £2500 about 7 years ago
  5. British 60's labels were almost uniformly dull. Plain black, plain blue. Thats why reggae is such fun to collect, they had some cracking designs in the late 60's. But in general, UK labels are terribly boring. Different story with the demos mind...
  6. I'm amazed, I"m also amazed that I don't remember it! It was released in the 70's though Ian, not the 60's, she was going out with Mick Jagger when that came out, I'm sure...72 or 73
  7. His sets are never dull though are they, there's always something that you don't know that you end up liking
  8. No way would they let that on TOTP, that must be from the German show Beat Club or one of it's spin-offs?
  9. I told Ian that I'd had that debbie & The Lads record for sale last year for under £150, I knew he didn't believe me, now he's quoting it at £1000 in tim browns price guide...took me 6 months to sell it.
  10. That Patti Drew record is shocking.
  11. What were they thinking? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MARSHA-HUNT-JOHNS-CHILDREN-DESDEMONA-BOLAN-UNIQUE-1969-SLEEVE-NEAR-MINT-/320845658401?pt=UK_Records&hash=item4ab3e43921#ht_819wt_1398
  12. Hang on. If he's saying it's styrene, and you;re saying it's vinyl. Have you got a photo of your copy? because he may be planning a switch.
  13. Does he know the difference between vinyl and styrene? If it's got the nashville matrix stamp, vinyl, it's original. If it's styrene, it's a pressing, it'll have a delta number. There's a second, vinyl pressing, but it's got Bill Pursell on the b side.
  14. The original green label one is bad, there was a much later one off the masters that was fantastic, pale blue and pale yellow labels
  15. Yes thats terrible lo-fi
  16. Yeah that was truly awful, done along with Barbara English - Sitting in the corner, equally bad quality. Other horrors are the orange label Exus Trek from the 80's (not the 70's orange one), Marsha Brody - Right Combination and Earl Harrison - Humphrey Stomp, neither of which have any bass on them at all.
  17. Do you not mean the guy who did the Soul Sounds pressings - cos it wasn't Keith.
  18. And you need to read my posts properly Dave, I said it was £75-£100 OVER THE TOP, it actually sold for something like £250, when it should have been £150.

  20. That's outrageous. Leave him one star on his postage rating.
  21. Not surprised, went for a ridiculously high price, £75-£100 over the top.
  22. Absolutely spot on Steve, thank you great track as well
  23. Wow thats interesting Steve, I bet I had that at the same time as What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted which had Don't You Miss Me on the B side, mid 1974, must have got the two mixed up, if so, great spot!
  24. Had this in the back of my head all day I have told you and told you, you know how much I really care, I'm a jealous man but you use me, and abuse me no more, don't you dare (that may not be quite right) I thought it was from a song called Don't You Miss Me A Little Bit baby by Jimmy Ruffin but it's not is it?
  25. Don't Let Me Misunderstood meets I Will Survive. What a terrible terrible record.
