  1. Mick got it (on Rouser) from the Carolinas in 76/77, he bought it on spec having never heard it - cost 10 cents. he traded it to Soul Sam for Jimmy Burns on Erica.
  2. I'm a bit baffled by this one PIERCE BROS & CO - SAY LADY / BI BI BI DI BI DIP BE HAPPY - STAR BIRTH 002. It's a disco sounding thing. Popsike has it selling for $293 in 2008, right down to $31 in 2011. Bit of a difference there! Any ideas anyone? I can't find a copy for sale on ebay, gemm, music stack, manship, discogs.
  3. Ah memories of school holidays 1969-ish
  4. That is an incredible price for Alexander Patton, I'd have only said half that amount.
  5. No you are right, but it is only a demo, very basic.
  6. Yes they were made to order back in the 70's - you paid £5 and chose two tracks
  7. Here you go, this is actually a brilliant podcast I did if I do say so myself! https://podcast9122525417.podomatic.com/entry/2011-10-24T13_18_52-07_00 UNKNOWN ARTIST - TILL THE END OF TIME / LITTLE CHARLES & THE SIDEWINDERS - WIN YOUR LOVE / EDDIE HOLLAND - DAYDREAMER / THE RONETTES - HERE I SIT / THE MAJOR'S BAND - INVESTIGATE (BACKING TRACK) / DIANE LEWIS - YOU AIN'T GOT A CHANCE / CAROLYN CRAWFORD - I'LL COME RUNNING / TIMI YURO - SPOIL ME / BERNARD WILLIAMS & THE BLUE NOTES - IT'S NEEDLESS TO SAY (ALT) / VAN McCOY - WAIT TIL I GET YOU IN MY ARMS / CHRIS BARTLEY - I GO OUT OF MY MIND / DEON JACKSON - SOME DAY THE SUN WILL SHINE / LITTLE CARL & THE DETROIT HITMEN - THE TINGLE (TAKE 2) / SHANE MARTIN - I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT / DAVE HAMILTON BAND - WHAT SHOULD I DO (INST) / VIVIAN CARROLL - OH YEAH YEAH (LONG INTRO) / VAL SIMPSON - IT'S JUST LOVE / DOC'S BAND - TOUCH OF VENUS (INST) / WENDY ANDREWS - CLOCK ON THE WALL / BARBARA MERCER - MY DEAR HEART / MIRWOOD STRINGS - DON'T PRETEND (INST)(NO STRING OVERDUBS) / UPTOWN STRINGS - COME GO WITH ME (INST) / KENNY SMITH - OH LORD WHAT'S HAPPENING TO YOUR PEOPLE (REMIX) / JEAN CARTER - LIKE ONE (ALT) / UNKNOWN ARTIST - THE RIGHT KIND (VOCAL) / THE DE LITES - LOVER (ALT)
  8. No, the publishers would have offered the management the song and they pass it on to the clients. Mick Smith spoke to John Andrews a year or two ago, he'd sold a copy of the record to him I think. Mr Andrews was working as a salesman in Kent I think.
  9. It is Val Simpson, Ady got it with a batch of publishers acetates of Ashford/Simpson/Armstead songs, another one was A Man Needs Love, I've put both of these on podcasts a few times.
  10. The British ones were smaller though
  11. They're much smaller though, 5" I think
  12. It's a boot. The only other record on this label I know if is a super rare bootleg of Willie Hutch - Love Runs Out, which we discussed about a year ago. Just cos it's not in the Manship guide doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
  13. Everybody's got some of those people though...mine is Mr. C...
  14. I didn't even need to look but I don't need to look to know that they'd be cheaper than on your mates' site. And of course, it takes hours to do a job like filming record labels, so no wonder you don't have much time.
  15. If that was a legit issue, surely they would be proud of the fact and announcing it on here, Soul Source isn't exactly unknown and anyone wanting some sales, well what better place to advertise it?
  16. Yes, it features the words "Where can my baby be"
  17. It's not the same song Jock. Well I'm 99% sure it's not.
  18. It usually sells for £75
  19. The B side of Linda Queen is brilliant too. Unfortunately I'm not awake yet so can't remember what it's called. Kev Roberts once told me he got 200 or so copies of this from a house in New Jersey I think it was.
  20. p.s. wasn't me who asked you the question, I just thought it was funny
  21. If you just click on the blokes name it opens up a new window and one option is to send a Personal Message, best way to do it, saves everyone else reading it and the seller saying no in public
