I love the fact that video footage of this exists, thanks for posting that, however bad the song is
-
It's about £5,000 I think
-
God knows why he covered it up, I had it in the 80's and reviewed it in Beatin Rhythm magazine along with a scan of the label, that was in 89 or 90, it was always £15 on Page One, didn't know there was an American release til much later, probably because of the change of artist credit on the UK one.

YOUTH CLUB SOUL REVISITED Here’s a selection of sounds big in the youth clubs between 1969 and 1975, many of which started in the “Rare Soul” clubs and made their way into public consciousness resulting in chart hits for the likes of The Newbeats, The Fascinations and Dobie Gray. Amost everyone you knew was into Soul music back in those days – either that or they were either an ex-RAF greatcoat wearing Prog Rocker, or a Slade loving Boot Boy. Well I always loved Slade to be honest but hated that Prog Rock rubbish and still do…anyway, dancing shoes at the ready, this one is going to make you feel like a teenager again…that’s presuming you’re now an old git like me BOOKER T & THE MG’S – TIME IS TIGHT THE NEWBEATS – RUN BABY RUN CANDY & THE KISSES – THE 81 THE SAPPHIRES – THE SLOW FIZZ BILL COSBY – LITTLE OLE MAN THE CAPITOLS – COOL JERK ANDRE BRASSEUR – THE KID JERRYO – KARATE BOOGALOO THE DRAMATICS – INKY DANG WANG DANG DOO JACKIE LEE – THE SHOTGUN AND THE DUCK BUNNY SIGLER – LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS – BREAK OUT BOB & EARL – HARLEM SHUFFLE MICKEY LEE LANE – HEY SAH LO NEY JOE TEX – SHOW ME JAMO THOMAS – I SPY FOR THE FBI VAL McKENNA – LOVE FEELING JIMMY JAMES – A MAN LIKE ME CURTIS MAYFIELD – MOVE ON UP JOHN MILES – ONE MINUTE EVERY HOUR FATHER’S ANGELS – BOK TO BACH ARCHIE BELL & THE DRELLS – HERE I GO AGAIN EDWIN STARR – AGENT DOUBLE O SOUL THE VELVELETTES – THESE THINGS WILL KEEP ME LOVING YOU EARL VAN DYKE – 6 BY 6 R. DEAN TAYLOR – THERE’S A GHOST IN MY HOUSE DOBIE GRAY – OUT ON THE FLOOR BOBBI LYNN – EARTHQUAKE MILLE JACKSON – MY MAN, A SWEET MAN JACKIE MOORE – BOTH ENDS AGAINST THE MIDDLE DON COVAY – IT’S BETTER TO HAVE THE COMMODORES – THE ZOO (THE HUMAN ZOO) JIMMY RUFFIN – TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT FRED HUGHES – BABY BOY LENIS GUESS – JUST ASK ME DARRELL BANKS – OUR LOVE (IS IN THE POCKET) BILLY HARNER – WHAT ABOUT THE MUSIC THE FASCINATIONS – GIRLS ARE OUT TO GET YOU THE PLATTERS – WITH THIS RING https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/youth-club-soul-revisited-1969-1975/

I have found a great way of getting new cover up names: often people order two records off me at a time so I repeat them in my head while I'm looking for them, therefore you get earl jackson & the presidents blanch carter & the staircases jessica james & the soul explosions and so on or you can take an artist and use one of his well know tracks for instance billy watkins & the ice men

Hamilton Movement Promotional Flyer From Soul Bowl
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in Look At Your Box
hi pete —you can add that we sold all of there releases as we had deals with several distributors in the states and we were ordering new releases every day and very often we wholesaled them on to japan etc——just as an example when we had earl white jr we wholesaled 100 copies to a japanese dealer for £2 each— that's the way it was in those days and i know trophy hunters don't want to hear it but that's there problem not mine----john -
