  5. Well done Andy. Funnily enough, I am doing the same thing as you, I actually made a post about it last week asking how to cut specific items out. As I am using a Mac, I found a truly brilliant program was already built in, it's called Grab. For windows, you have to click 'print screen' then open up 'paint' and paste in the image you saved using print screen, and then you can cut out the piece that you need.
  6. Problem here is that even if you state that the postage will be higher than £4 in your text, some people pay as soon as the auction ends and pay the minimum £4. When you then tell them that in your description it states that the postage will be higher than £4, they often don't reply. If you then refund their money, they can still leave you a negative. So I just bite the bullet and pay the extra myself.
  7. I was thinking the same - a sensible offer would be 75 quid.
  8. I'd be a millionaire if I got paid for every bit of information I've given people on here and on PM. But as you say, not worth arguing about.
  9. Nothing wrong with plugging the cd and I hope people buy it, but I just didn't like the insinuation. You wouldn't ask me to buy something off you if I asked you what the line up of a band was, would you?
  10. Soul Source is supposed to be about sharing knowledge and information, not having to pay for it.
  11. I do remember Kenny posting up the original version - and it was by The Moody Blues!
  12. Was quoting a post further up mate
  13. Nah, it's fantastic, got some great comments on mixcloud but then my podcasts always do I'd love to know the last Handbag night that played the Royal Robins...
  14. That's the first time I've ever seen that. Always thought Ellen & The Shandells was a cover up name! Wow.
  15. It's all a bit muddy. A repro is a copy of the original, but that could mean it's official or unofficial, but suggets that it's legit. A counterfeit is a copy of the original which is 100% illegal. In the case of the PP Arnold, I don't know of a legitimate repro of that one, only two bootlegs, both made to look like USA copies, despite it never having been issued in the USA.
  16. Thanks Russell, had already been to that website but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack to be honest. I think I might be better going on things like Beatles sites where they probably print the old reviews but may keep them intact so the other reviews are also there. A couple of months ago I came across and NME front cover with an adverts for new releases so they must be somewhere.
  17. No, up at 7.20 this morning
  18. Of all the things that you can find on the net, I've actually hit a brick wall. I have been collecting reviews of Northern Soul 45's from Billboard magazines 1964-67 and have accumulated a fair few. I've been trying to find a UK equivalent. Singles reviews from old NME's and Melody makers of the 60's, and can't find any at all. Has anyone ever seen anything like this online at all?
  19. When you said you'd accept the deposit, how long did you say you'd hold the records for? If it's gone over that period, email him one more time and tell him that if you haven't heard from him in 24 hours time, you will be refunding his money and selling the records to the next interested party. Anyone who was really interested would not go silent.
  20. OK boss, I know my place...
  21. Cool - thanks.
  22. Some records you love from the first time you hear them - as it was for me with Joanie. There must be something in certain records that you either love or hate, like a lot of people hate the Joe Jama record but can't say exactly why. Now it's common knowledge that I don't like the Carstairs record, but thats because, in my opinion, the lead singer is shouting and out of tune. I can maybe understand some people not liking the vocals on the Joanie record but the backing track is phenomenal, wish I had an inst of it.
  23. n.b. I know we've had lots of material from the US trade mags but I'm going over them with a fine tooth comb this time - I was astonished to find trade adverts for Carol Fredericks (Stonel) and Nat Hall (Loop), records we presumed were underpromoted mega-flops
  24. How did you do it Mike - is tiff a mac file only?
