  1. That's a very rare album on Island and one I've never been able to find. Not as rare as "Pakistani Soul Session" released on Island at the same time but still tough. I'm really interested to hear that the Brian Hyland record was played prior to 1973. It was reactivated in 1979 and became massive for a few weeks.
  2. You have got to be kidding...Len Barry's version sounds like an unfinished demo compared to the Dean Courtney masterpiece. In my opinion.
  3. Yes it was Dave and I was going to say that there seems no logic as to why The Orlons came out on Planet - but the then self-distributed Calla label could place their product with anyone they chose to, hence it appearing on that label. I can't think of another USA act that came out on Planet apart from John lee Hooker but he was working and recording in England at the time.
  4. That doesn't make sense if you think about it, all those artists I just mentioned, all top 10 within the space of 2 years - and Pye is the parent company of Pye anyway. And Rescue Me, although a hit, would have done only a tenth of what Sunny Afternoon or Waterloo Sunset or Downtown would have done.
  5. I'm sure there's a full live album from which that single was pulled? One of Garnet's I love is "A quiet place" aka Johnny Dollar, it's one of those songs that you can literally see being enacted out if you listen to it and close your eyes. There's also a great cover of it by Prince Buster (the clip below does not sound like the one on UK Blue Beat which I mean though) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT7YooKdVBY
  6. Nah, doesn't interest me - why would I want a live version? Is it a top rarity cos some nutcase paid over £100 for it?
  7. We used to sell this for a fiver in the 90's as it was a live version.
  8. My demo copy. I've had 3 demos I think. Sold my last 2 years back, bought this one a month ago. Arrived in a jiffy bag with no cardboard and no paper sleeve even. It's a survivor alright. Issue must have sold a fair few copies, had loads.
  9. Honeycombs, Kinks, Petula Clark, Donovan, Kenny Ball, Herb Alpert, Sandie Shaw, Searchers etc, they'd never been more successful! It came out on Cameo Parkway because Cameo Parkway originally distributed Calla, then they became self-distributed.
  10. Why would they have been in a lawsuit concerning the Beatles, Swan & VeeJay released Beatles material, Cameo and Parkway didn't. Did they? Apart from Pete Best's solo single. By the way there's an alternate version of I'll Do Anything using the same baxcking track - I think it's Dee Dee Sharp.
  11. First time it appeared with an extra verse was on the Horaces LP back in the mid 90's. Sun Surf & Soul I think it was called.
  12. John E Paul reissue starting price £99 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NORTHERN-SOUL-DECCA-RECORDS-12685-JOHN-E-PAUL-I-WANNA-NO-1967-/270965236349?pt=UK_Records&hash=item3f16c9627d#ht_592wt_1401
  13. Yeah Safari shows times and bids. Must be a Chrome thing then. Thanks for looking guys.
  14. Thats odd then. It's only on this search where it does it, it goes up to 59 minutes then nothing, and absolutely no details of bids. I'll try it on Safari...
  15. And, the label is slightly off, like the others mentioned above. I'm sure I bought mine off one of the Wigan dj's or off someone who got it off one of them, and I just don't remember it being on thin vinyl that's all.
  16. Could someone have a look at this link and tell me why the time left isn't showing (or number of bids) I can't see where you "switch the details on" - thanks (the time shows for one hour only) https://www.ebay.co.u...14.l1513&_pgn=2
  17. I'm starting to think there may be two original presses of this. The one on Pat Brady's site has the label offcentre, there's one on popsike also with the label offcentre, but there's alsosome like mine above which don't have the offcentre labels and appear to be sturdier - I know, not easy to be able to say that from a scan. I"m thinking along the lines of Lost Soul - Secret Of Mine, there are two strikingly different presses of that.
  18. That appears to be the case. I remain totally unconvinced though, I've sold stacks of these boots but don't remember having the darker yellow one as a boot
  19. Calla also leased Jerry Williams - Just what do you plan to do about it to Cameo Parkway. Doesn't answer your question but shows it wasn't just the one.
  20. Yeah I remember that Barbara Mcnair from a couple of months ago. You are right Daz, it's just that I've never seen this or been told it. They will act according to price though, if it's 20/30 quid they will pay out on a secure package jiffy bag or not. But it is a f*cking ridiculous rule seeing as the jiffy bag offers no protection at all.
  21. Yes it's the same record whenever it was released, except if the term hasn't been invented, how can you call it that, at that time?
  22. I've posted over 800 packages already this year and I have never heard of or been told about that rule in my life!
  23. Because if it goes missing I'm responsible, and I've got no comeback, I can't prove I posted it or they received it. The average price of a record I sell is usually say £40, I can't afford to lose that amount of money. If they refuse to pay for recorded delivery, I pay for it myself.
  24. I'm not arguing with you, if you don't get it then you don't get it.
  25. That is correct, but that's non-recorded, I was quoting for recorded.
