He could have done them as test pressings maybe? Not saying he did... -
I did, I forgot all about that, I was gutted but it was obviously cracked when sent to me so why do people do that?

You're thinking of something else, the only johnny ross bootleg is the white one. The only record I know on Cherub is the bootleg of The Joker.

Darren, not trying to tell you your job but Tommy T is never an offers record, (well maybe it is, but not very high ones), it's a real hard one to sell, I listed it for 6 months maybe longer before I sold it, and it wasn't expensive. -
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - Get Out - Lando
Pete S replied to Donkit's topic in Look At Your Box
Phil LA of Soul release coincided it with it being a minor hit in the UK in 1975 so they reissued it on that label -
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - Get Out - Lando
Pete S replied to Donkit's topic in Look At Your Box
No but it was booted on a plain white label with Landa in a straight line at the to, credited to The Bluenotes. What was the point of that, 3 years after it had gotten a UK release? -

PETE SMITH 4 BLAKELEY HEATH DRIVE WOMBOURNE WOLVERHAMPTON WV5 0HW 01902 326306 pete.smith@freeuk.com A NICE SELECTION OF REMAINING ORIGINALS, COMPETITIVELY PRICED AND MOST IN TIP TOP CONDITION. CARL BURNETT & THE HUSTLERS - JERK BABY JERK - CARMAX M- 30 Stock copy BROTHERS OF SOUL - CANDY - SHOCK EX 25 COMBINATION INC - I GOT TO GO - STACEY EX+ 60 Two decent dancers back to back, 150 on JM FANTASTIC FOUR - AIN'T LOVE WONDERFUL - RIC TIC DEMO M- 60 Ah, I got done last time I had this, thought it wasn't worth anything, that'll teach me not to do the research - it's actually a seriously rare white demo MEL HOUSTON - SEARCHING - CEZ VISTA EX 50 This is a Los Angeles release but uses the backing track from Will Hatcher's version, slightly remixed. There's a definite Detroit instrumental on the B side, I Need Some Loving. You definitely went through the box the same day as I did, it was under the counter, what threw me (my excuse) was that it was in a very early 60's Mercury sleeve so I just presumed it was a very early 60's Mercury 45, of which there is little of interest to me...I wouldn't have even read the label, just flicked straight past it. I very rarely get anything out of there to be honest, the only other thing I got was the legendary Mrs Miller 45 on Capitol -

I'd probably still be interested in paying maybe £50 for a boot, £150 or so for a real one... remember that shop in Bridgnorth - I got a copy of Reg Guest Syndicate - Underworld - Mercury out of there about 6 weeks back, it was in a box I'd looked through at least four times over the past 6 or 7 years and I never twigged, unbelievable that it sat there all that time...I sold it to someone who dj'd at GoGo Children recently, said he was going to play it, never did ask him if he did. -
Not heard it since it was played - was late 1975 - the version that came out on Polydor was totally different to the one on Spring for some reason. I quite like it personally.
-
Yeah I was thinking that, must be way lighter than a wooden box and easier to carry with that strap.

See above. When a bloke as experienced as Mick Smith gets suckered into buying a counterfeit, you know it's going to be a good one. More info here https://lostvinylgemsofthe60s.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/robert-plant-ive-got-secret-cbs-2858.html -

The only problem with this and the Ebay listings is that I was planning on bidding on several of these - but I only ever bid on the last day of the auction in the last minute, so my bids will probably never go on, if they are to be pulled. -

You cannot possibly tell that that is a bootleg from that scan. I actually had it in my hands, as did Mick Smith and Roy Gelder, and none of us twigged that it was a boot until I got it home and realised the matrix was scratched in. So three very experienced UK collectors all taken in by it, yet you can tell it's a boot from that scan, amazing (in fact he wouldn't sell it to me at that £107 price I won it at, I ended up paying £160 for it. I got the money back, obviously) -

The first Plant solo single, Our Song, is horrible, but it's got a decent blue eyed cut on the other side Previously he recorded this as part of the group Listen...originally by the Young Rascals, also cut by The In Betweens (Slade) who were local rivals to Listen, I had some great memorabilia of both bands a couple of years back, autographs, business cards etc. Prefer the In Betweens version, produced by Kim Fowley, having said that, for an 18/19 year old Plant has a great voice.
