There's another one - Hitsville Chalky got Ronnie to do a new vocal over the original backing track a couple of years ago and cut two acetates, he gave one away to auction for charity and sold me his other one which I then sold for £400. There are no other copies of it, though I still have a recording of it. It's really good.

Original has the proper design and Isn't She A Pretty Girl on the other side, and is stamped. Boot has the proper design but instrumental on other side. Third one has a remix of Sitting In My Class, different label design and Isn't She A Pretty Girl on other side

If this is a properly licensed product with the paperwork to back it up, some of you ought to be careful what you say as there's no reason why you couldn't be sued for libel. If Jesse has done the deal it's between him and the copyright owner and he doesn't have to show you or me anything.

PM me Mick please cos I don't know which Mick you are!

And the next one up is: IVORYS - PLEASE STAY - DESPENZA 12266. A truly fantastic oldie that's always stayed rare...this one to look at I think you'd say somewhere between a VG++ and Ex due to what I call a thumbnail mark on the vinyl and one small thin feelable scratch. Little water damage to B side label. These marks don't sound and the record is a strong EX player - at least. Audio file available to anyone who wants one. I'll start this at £600 and end it at 7pm next Wednesday. Bid with confidence, it's a beautiful and brilliant record.

Some acetates for sale. First one BUZZ ROYAL (not real name) - BE A MAN - HASTINGS MUSIC CORPORATION 10" acetate. One sided publishers demo. Comes with music and lyrics sheet. A nice poppy little dancer, put it this way, I have heard worse. As far as I know, the only copy that exists but of course I could be wrong. I covered the actual artists name on the photo in case anyone who bought it wanted to keep it secret. It's mint. Drop us a line if any interest. Second one is THE CAMMOTIONS with MOTOWN and SONNY. Motown was a very short lived Wigan spin which didn't really take off, Sonny was a Stafford play. Both tracks came out on the LA-RO-Ke label. Same cuts as on this 10" acetate, which was actually found at a UK music publishers office. This is a very strong VG+ to EX with a few marks. £50 Third one, from the legendary Gold Star studios in Los Angeles where the Wrecking Crew were the resident musicians, SPRINGFIELD RIFLE with a double sided 8" acetate of WHAT KIND OF DAY / IT AIN'T HAPPENED. Both are uptempo tracks, West Coast pop really. I know It Ain't Happened came out but I don't know if What Kid Of Day did. It's an excellent uptempo pop stomper kind of thing. Excellent condition. £50 You can hear "Buzz Royal" on the podcast below at 35:50. If you want to see what's on the podcast and hear the rest click SHOW TRACKLIST. https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/say-girl-rare-northern-soul/

They don't play on my record player though :-)
-
Why is it pointless though? I'd buy it. I'd never consider buying an original.
-
People who paid a lot of money for the originals always are miffed about that - understandably - but they don't "own" the record, they paid no royalties when they paid £1000 for their original, and why shouldn't other people get the chance to hear and play it?
-
David, there are two different versions of Jimmy Robbins, released on two different labels, maybe it's him with the alternate one?

"Ockers" passed away today I just read. Very well known on the Modern scene, remember him from the old KTF days. Am surprised one of his mates hasn't posted up on here, I've just read it on facebook so thought I should pass it on.
-
I find roots unlistenable - enjoy the rest though mate :-)

Ellie Greenwich known a long time but only big relatively recently (Red Bird), Liberty was a 1975 new release spin, A side is a horrendous vocal (BASF), Persionettes was played from an acetate in the 80's, came out on Kent CD in the 90's and on a legal (?) reissue a few years back
