Bobby Paris Night Owl White Label Copy Original Or Boot ?
Pete S replied to a topic in Look At Your Box
Andy this is a tough one, there are at least two bootlegs on the black and white label, one has shocking sound quality, the other is fine. A few years ago I bought a black and white "demo" from the States, when I got it it looked totally legit, I just couldn't decide, when I showed it to John Manship I don't think he'd had this particular one before but we both decided it was not legit because all demos are actually red label copies. As far as I know, there is no white demo. -
Well it's worth £50 to Ebay nutcases who have money to burn - it's just a two bob bootleg at the end of the day, £20 - £25 absolute maximum value...by the way, label design is totally different on the original anyway so thats an easy way of telling.
-
Having said that, and read all the comments in this thread, I shall certainly try and listen to more Lou Pride tracks now though.
-
Thanks Dave
-
How much are they nowadays, I've one to sell but dunno what to ask - £40? (Our love is getting stronger)
-
Yeah but if you've never heard it how can you say anything about it?
-
I thought it was "specially" as well...
-
Enjoyed reading that, two points, I got a black issue out of Record Collector in the late 90's for £18, think I sold it to Dave Kilworth for £25 at Keele, I haven't had one since...the Catacombs copy on the Parlophone issue - well one of them anyway - belonged to the late Bob Crocker, a few years back I remember a very proud Swoz showing me this and it had Bob Cocker Catacombs scratched into the run off. Can't remember if it had a centre or not, I think maybe it didn't.

Halfway down the page mate, credit to Dave "David" Flynn https://www.anorakscorner.com/PressingPlantInfo.html

It's the boot. The number after the triangle tells you it's a 1977 pressing. Well it tells ME that :-)

Just a point on the above, when I"ve done multiple mailouts I've had people actually complain that I'm doing too many mailouts, you can't win.
-
This has all been turned on it's head, it's not a criticism of John, Paul, it's trying to understand why certain records get crazy prices, I guess the above explains it
-
You have to stop singling me out because this will get reported back second hand and I'll be accused of God knows what. EVERYONE comments on auction prices, whether they are JM, Anglo, Brady, Ebay. Not just me. When a record goes for a daft price, people talk about it.
