  1. OK will rephrase - it was ONCE owned by him, in fact I think he helped found it. Wiki will know. Or Tony Rounce.
  2. Sorry but have to laugh at this, the singers name is Jimmy CLANTON, look how the seller spelt it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOP-RANK-45-JIMMY-CLACTON-ANOTHER-SLEEPLESS-NIGHT-rare-record-/190692239709?pt=UK_Records&hash=item2c6624a95d#ht_500wt_1415
  3. WIRL was actually owned by the former Jamaican prime minister Edward Seaga!
  4. The problem is (for dealers I mean), although we all acknowledge it's rare, it's actually hard to sell, I remember about 18 months back Mick Smith passing on one for less than £400 and asking me if I wanted it, and I didn't take it either.
  5. You would be surprised Mark, there's someone very well known and on here in fact who was rude to me under similar circumstances in the 80's, I'm amazed he hasn't twigged why every time he asks me for a record it's already been sold, people tend to remember things like that. I can also remember Tommy Cockburn making Ian Levine give him a public apology for being extremely rude to him when he asked for a record during his only ever trip to the Mecca in 1975. And he did, in front of hundreds of people at The Rocket. Of course Ian didn't have the faintest idea what Tommy was on about or remember the incident but Tommy never forgot it.
  6. I must be in a minority because I like to hear what people's opinions of the guy playing off cd's are. Vinyl records are the fundamental base starting point for the entire Northern Soul scene in my opinion, without them there would never have been a scene and without them there won't be one. Again, in my opinion. One of the questions that never seems to get answered is "why do some dj's get a free pass to dj off cd's when others would be crucified for doing the same thing?" Yes we've had the question before, I know...
  7. UK one 50 to 100, 75 to 150 for demo. US one is rare, 125-175. 250, not a chance.
  8. Never been a fan of closing topics just for the sake of it or because it's gone a little off the boil. So CC was discussed already, well he did the same thing again, this time elsewhere, so surely it makes sense to discuss it again, especially for the people who know the venue and people involved etc. Too many topics get closed before they've run their course.
  9. I go the opposite way, £15/20 tunes are £7/10 now. Then again, they usually are anyway. Whats the point of putting a record at a price when it will never sell?
  10. I don't think Dusty was even on that show to be honest, I think Keith Fordyce introduces Kim, and she definitely walks down some stairs onto the set. Apparently The Beatles specifically asked if she could be on the same show as them.
  11. Really interesting selection of rarities ending over the next 3 nights https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/mayfairmenthol/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 stuff you don't see every day cheers Pete
  12. STILL STACKS OF NICE ORIGINAL BRITISH 45'S HERE FOLKS
  13. Mick I've had one and also was offered one in the last year, traded the one, the other went for 550 I think
  14. I listed one on here this week! CBS issue.
  15. All spent now I think.
  16. Hundreds and hundreds of people like that record, how can that come under the heading "the records that nobody likes"?
  17. I don't know why we bother mentioning and discussing this stuff anymore, everyone knows "Judy" is a £75 record except the person who just paid £400 for it.
  18. It is rare Blake. I've only ever had 2 copies. Though hardly any interest when I sold them surprisingly. Gene Pitney's version on Pye International is also rare (same backing track)
  19. Legendary name amongst UK collectors Steve. (Thanks for package by the way )
  20. I think I'll always remain sceptical about this one Steve.
  21. But of course that could have been added at any time...
  22. It was good while it lasted.
  23. Deleted Soul was one version.
  24. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tommy-Tate-A-Lovers-Reward-Okeh-7-ORIG-/190575916873?pt=UK_Records&hash=item2c5f35b749#ht_527wt_1170 wouldn't buy it but looks pretty cool! wonder what else they issued in Jamaica?
