That is such rubbish...there is no dog barking, why would a dog be in the studio? It's a misplayed note.

BRITISH... THE STRANGE BROS SHOW - SHAKEY JAKES - POLYDOR (EX) £25 Big club sound, lot of people don't even realise this was issued in the UK IKE & TINA TURNER - SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME - LONDON DEMO (M-) £20 Superb version THE 5TH DIMENSION - TOO POOR TO DIE - LIBERTY (EX-) £25 You never see this on UK original. Few light pops right at start otherwise fine. THE RAMBLETTES - ON BACK STREET - BRUNSWICK DEMO (EX) £25 Extremely rare and obscure but ultimately useless version of The Toys song BOB & EARL (BOBBY GARRETT) - I CAN'T GET AWAY - JAYBOY (M-) £25 Credited to Bob & Earl but it's a second take of the Bobby Garrett number using the same backing track. I've played them both over the top of each other and the only difference is a few more "baby's" and "ughs" from the singer. NINA SIMONE - BREAK DOWN AND LET IT ALL OUT - PHILIPS (EX) £25 Two brilliant Van McCoy sides, this and Either Way I Lose on the B side COVER UP - KENNY ROBERTS - SAD SAD SONGS (M-) £50 As featured on my last Beat Ballads compilation. Not told anyone who it is and no copies for sale on the net whatsoever. BOBBY WELLS - LET'S COPP A GROOVE - BEACON (M-) £20 Superb copy. Small A on centre denoting A side (no 'proper' demos were released) THE TREETOPS - WITHOUT THE ONE YOU LOVE - COLUMBIA DEMO (M-) £20 Nice UK updating of the Four Tops classic MAXIMILLIAN - THE SNAKE - TIME (EX) £15 Just found this, UK unofficial press also featuring Ray Barretto (Soul Drummers) and Junior Wells (Stomach Ache) ANN ROBINSON aka CINDY SCOTT - WORLD OF HAPPINESS - GOLDMINE SOUL SUPPLY TEST PRESSING (M-) £50 test press for the limited Harthon issue of this vocal to Bird Walkin', instrumental on B side THE TOYS - MAY MY HEART BE CAST INTO STONE - STATESIDE (M-) £15 Classic 60's girls THE SOCIALITES - YOU'RE LOSING YOUR TOUCH / JIVE JIMMY - WARNER BROS (EX) £30 Two great sides, such a rare demo too, can't believe no one bought this yet BILL COSBY - LITTLE OLE MAN (UPTIGHT) - WARNER BROS (M-) £25 Very tough first issue post extra...first come first served...paypal welcome please drop me a line if you want anything cheers

JAMAICAN CLASSIC – THE DOCTOR BIRD LABEL A great label for the collector and listener, Doctor Bird was set up by Graeme Goodall in 1966 as part of the Direct / Rio record label set up. They licensed product from virtually all of the top Jamaican producers with the exception of Prince Buster. Issuing around 200 singles between 1966 and 1969, I swear I never even saw a Doctor Bird label in the flesh until the early 80’s, even though some releases, such as DB 1001 Joe White & Chuck, are amongst the biggest selling UK Jamaican releases ever. There’s quality throughout the series and although UK productions tend to dominate the very last releases, the Doctor Bird label is a goldmine for anyone interested in the classic sounds of the mid to late 60’s. This compilation comes from records in my own collection, sorry there aren’t more but I sold over 100 a few years ago. All tracks taken from vinyl 45’s. JOE WHITE & CHUCK – EVERY NIGHT (DB 1001) BABA BROOKS & HIS BAND – KING SIZE (1009) THE GAYLADS – LADY WITH THE RED DRESS ON (1014) SIR LORD COMIC & HIS COWBOYS – SKA ING WEST (1019) ROLANDO AL & THE SOUL BROTHERS – PHOENIX CITY (1020) THE SKATALITES – DR. RING A DING (1023) ROLAN ALPHONSO – MISS SKA CULATION (1027) BABA BROOKS – THE CLOCK (1042) ALTON & THE FLAMES – BLESSINGS OF LOVE (1044) LYNN TAIT & TOMMY McCOOK – SPANISH EYES (1047) JUSTIN HINES & THE DOMINOES – THE HIGHER THE MONKEY CLIMBS (1048) TOMMY McCOOK & THE SUPERSONICS – A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN (1051) ALTON ELLIS & THE FLAMES – SHAKE IT (1055) ERIC MONTY MORRIS – IF I DIDN’T LOVE YOU (1056) ALTON ELLIS & THE FLAMES – I’VE GOT A DATE (1059) THE PARAGONS – HAPPY GO LUCKY GIRL (1060) PHYLLIS DILLON – DON’T STAY AWAY (1061) ROY SHIRLEY – HOLD THEM (1068) SIR LORD COMIC – THE GREAT WUGA WUGA (1070) BOBBY AITKEN & THE CARIBBEATS – SWEETS FOR MY SWEET (1077) LESLIE BUTLER & THE FUGITIVES – WINCHESTER ROCKSTEADY (1083) BOB MARLEY & THE WAILING WAILERS – HYPOCRITE (1091) ROY SHIRLEY – MUSIC FIELD (1093) THE ETHIOPIANS – THE WHIP (1096) THE FUGITIVES FEATURING JOE JOE – THE LECTURE (1097) THE SENSATIONS – LONELY LOVER (1100) KEN BOOTHE – SAY YOU (1110) JOHNNY & THE ATTRACTIONS – YOUNG WINGS CAN FLY (1118) THE KINGSTONIANS – PUT DOWN YOUR FIRE (1120) THE MELODIANS – A LITTLE NUT TREE (1125) DELANO STEWART – TELL ME BABY (1138) THE MELODIANS – SWING AND DINE (1139) LEE (KING) PERRY – PEOPLE FUNNY BOY (1146) CLANCY ECCLES – FEEL THE RHYTHM (1157) MONTY MORRIS – LAST LAUGH (1162) JOHNNY MOORE – BIG BIG BOSS (1180) https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/rare-reggae-archives-the-doctor-bird-label/

1) There is no styrene copy 2) John Anderson sold out of the blue print originals so got the owner to repress 500 copies from the original plates, these are the black print copies. He told me this 5 minutes ago and he also told me last year and I posted it up.
-
I've done a video, only 10 seconds long but to big to post up here, it's on my facebook page though
-
Selling the records separately isn't ripping anyone off though. I know very well I can buy a box set but I only want one track, George Kirby, so I'm happy to pay £30 for that because the rest of the records wouldn't get played cos I've either already got them or don't need them.

Anyone heard of this before? R Dean taylor - There's A Ghost In My House / Let's Go Somewhere - Canadian Motown VIP 25042. Now I'm presuming this coincides with the 1974 UK issue. This isn't about Ghost though, it's about Let's Go Somewhere. As you know, it starts off with some cymbal tapping and a piano riff, then he goes on to do a spoken passage "We all have lives to live on our own etc". Well not on this one: you get the cymbals, the piano riff and then it just smashes straight into the song "As I'm walking down the street". And it sounds utterly fantastic. I've never heard of this edited version before, it belongs to Rob Haigh (it's his record) and he doesn't know of another one either. Familiar to anyone or not? (Original VIP release has time as 2:51 same as this, but this is a good 10 seconds shorter despite showing the same time)

NORTHERN SOUL 50 – A PETE SMITH SPECIAL Disaster struck last night, my beloved Citronic disco decks died on me, the left turntable kept slowing down and speeding up – so I had to abandon the mix I was doing (about an hour of it was recorded so I may still post that). Anyway after sulking for 10 minutes I wondered if I could set up a couple of decks and a mixer, which I did, and to pay tribute to my old decks I did a Northern stompers special…it might be a bit rough and ready and badly mixed, and there’s a bit of electrical static on there as well I think but hey what the heck, loads of top tunes here. Not sure what the sound quality is like throughout but the bits I did listen to are ok. This morning, a friend showed me how to fix the problem with the old decks, and it worked. All hail Ozz and my old Citronic decks.
