I don't use Popsike and the reason is, over the last 4 years, 70% of all reggae & ska auctions have been ruined by fake bidders bidding astronomical prices, so the majority of prices for these records on Popsike are not real. Yet people will look at these prices and think that the prices are real. I sold a record to someone the other day. It was absolutely mint, unplayed. I sent it in a brand new mailer, with 3 pieces of card. I sent it the day he paid, despite him sending me an echeque which wouldn't clear for at least 5 days. He left me feedback today, which said " ok " f-ck knows what it would have said if the record had been sh*t, the mailer 2nd hand and it took 5 days to arrive You can guess what my feedback for him was...

What you need to do Martyn is make sure every one has a SOUND CLIP then there can be no arguments about how the record plays.

Yours is a rare original Steve, I've had two and both were styrene, must be very hard on original vinyl.

Yes you're right, both Yum YUms and Eddie Regan done at the same time by the same people, both originally sold in proper ABC sleeves as well, my mate got done by the Eddie Regan for £8 which was a lot of money still in 1977. There is a tiny smudge on the label of both of them, more on the Eddie Regan. The one that Steve is referring to is the UK issue of Eddie Regan b/w Sapphires. Different thing altogether.

It is of course the instrumental version of Edwin Starr / Doni Burdick but what makes this one special is that unlike the bootleg (b side of Barbara McNair white label) and reissues (one on an old Northern Soul Story LP, one on CD), it's cut at the correct speed - all of the others are a few revs too fast. This originally came from Simon Soussan who must have somehow found the master tape and the sound quality is superb. Condition is excellent. Bids over £50. GENE TOONES - WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT - SIMCO ISSUE. OK first although this is an ultra rare stock copy worth around 3 grand, this one is cracked from edge to centre. As it is, it plays really well with a very quiet click in the quieter parts of the record but I think this could be repaired much better (it currently has a piece of sellotape stuck on the b side to hold the crack together). With more pressure put on the two sides of the crack, it will seal completely, but I'm not going to do it in case I break it! The actual condition - apart from the crack of course - is excellent. I will post up a link to a sound clip so you can hear how it sounds at the moment. The label has ring wear as you will see from the photographs. Am looking at offers starting at £500 for this.
