If the sellers price is fair then comments from other people shouldn't matter should they? The site is about exchanging information and if someone tells me a record is available somewhere else at half the price that someone on here is selling it for, then the forum is doing it's job and it should be applauded not shouted down.

You don't? I do. There's hundreds of comments saying "great price" or "bargain".
-
Yeah, and now he's made a new topic and you're still moaning at him. Do we abide by Soul Source rules, or ones that you make up on the spot to suit yourself?
-
That was great reading Roburt, "Heartbreak" has always been one of my favourite UK only Northern 45's. Produced by Claire Francis, here stuff is always interesting and worth seeking out.
-
I'd agree with that, £50 is a fair price for an issue, £150 - £175 demo. A lot of people don't realise that the issue was counterfeited too.
-
In that case, someone's going to have to put up a rule saying that while a sale is active, nobody is allowed to comment on it, either on the sale topic or anywhere else on the site. It's a discussion site, and discussion about record prices is a big part of it.
-
I think it was a bit like the Canadian equivalent of UK Stateside - licensed in product from many labels, produced none of it's own music.
-
But you then tell people that if they have a comment, to start a topic about it, which he has done.
-
Here's a coincidence, picked this up today...it's shocking...
-
It's real. Counterfeit is vinyl.

Mixmeister's got an auto mixer which I can never get to work, problem being I've never really got a pile of tracks with the same BPM/tempo so it's all over the place, which is why just I set the option to "simple crossfade", but it has Beatmix 8, Beatmix 16 and so on, whatever that means
-
Sorry Jock not quite sure what you mean; I load, say, 30 individual tracks, then make sure they overlap slightly to keep it constant, then finalise it as one large mp3 file, because if you finalise it as separate tracks, then you have 30 different files to upload and that is impossible. You know with virtual dj you have to actual do it in real time - well on mixmeister you just have to make sure that the tracks segue together, it's not a "proper" mix like you'd do with a twin turntable type program. Hope that makes sense!

I think I had all but four of these on singles when they came out (a couple were 12"Â only and I think two are LP tracks). Great new records in the shops, week after week, they were the good old days.

Well the top one is Mr. M's at Wigan Casino.
-
The last bit is the easy bit mate, it's the setting up I'd struggle with!
-
If it was, I was certainly going in the right direction!
-
More likely to be someone like Mike Mansfield off one of those groovy instrumental LP's - his backing track to Love Affair - Everlasting Love was played!
-
Right I understand. Yes I would love to do that except for one thing - I don't know how to combine the music with any talking. I'd probably have to get a mic, do all the spoken bits somehow (I wouldn't know where and how to start recording off a mic) and then edit the inserts inbetween the music. Sounds like an awful lot of work unfortunately.
-
Only problem is that there are only ten or fifteen going up at a time, and the items I put up have probably already appeared on one of my podcasts before. Is that what you meant? I mean, I could do a couple of podcasts which cover all of the reggae etc on the site (95 titles in all) Where would I post them though - mixcloud?

Soundclips added!

A Couple Of Nice Bits Just Acquired, Well I Like 'em
Pete S replied to Northern Soul Uk's topic in Look At Your Box
It's not a bargain but it's certainly a rare one, remember discussing it before on here and general opinion that it is scarce - but because there's no demand these days, still cheap. I must have had half a dozen issues of Solomon King and I can honestly say I have never noticed that the title is extended, maybe I never looked at that side! Levi Jackson has a track called Don't You Be A Sinner on the B side.
