  1. Neil the repress was done in 76 or very early 77, unless there was a second repress and the ones floating about suddenly in 76/77 were old stock someone had found. I bought this out of Pep's shop the saturday it came out, swear it was 76. You can always gauge this by whether it appears on Casino tapes, and it appears on only one I've ever heard, and that was from 75 not 76.
  2. Actually that middle one looks more like the ones that came available in 1976
  3. No but you know what I mean, it's not one that does turn up a great deal - for a long time there were only two known copies
  4. I didn't quite get what he meant about the Teds, I know the punks thought the Teds were redundant, can't say as I ever did because I never saw any! But this is the same as the people on here who are embarassed by the baggy trouser brigade. Live and let live I say.
  5. This is a clip of The Delfonics on Top Of The Pops doing La La Means I Love You, I think this was a hit as reissue so it's probably around 1970-71, can anyone tell me the line up please, is Major Harris the one in the centre?
  6. Oh sorry, didn't realise it was so common.
  7. Oh I get what you mean now. They were like antiquities from another age.
  8. So you're saying that only you and the people who swear undyingly to original vinyl are the Northern Soul scene, and all the other thousands of people attending the do's I mentioned week in and week out are not on the scene and not fit to be on the scene? That must mean there's only 400 'proper' people left on the Northern Soul scene in the UK.
  9. We'd go to places like Newcastle Tiffanies all dayers knowing we had absolutely no way of getting home on a sunday night - 45 miles from home, walking it, sometimes getting a lift!
  10. My generation looked at the Teds in disgust? I'm f*cking 52 for God's sake
  11. Sort of reggae-disco
  12. The thing you European chaps never take into account is just how old most of the people on the scene in the UK are. When we were your age we were all as enthusiastic about originals and travelling etc. like you are now. The majority of us are between 45 and 65 years old now. Nowadays I'm more enthusiastic about getting a good nights kip and a decent bacon sandwich on a sunday morning.
  13. Very much so, only the third or fourth one maybe?
  14. Why does he need a reason to post something about a rare record?
  15. Apart from the thousands packing out weekenders, allnighters and local soul nights?
  16. You just described me and my mates - 35 years ago!

  20. Maybe this has run it's course now, thanks again to everyone for their support, not a positive result in one way but a massive positive result in another - sticking together! If anyone wants it re-opening to add a comment you can always PM me or if there are any more developments I'll re-open it. It's taken too much of a toll on me these last couple of weeks though, and me with my blood pressure...

  22. I don't think it's about whether I'm honest though, I sell a record, the customer is not happy, he asks for a refund, I say ok no problem, he sends it back and I refund the money. That's how simple it is, and that's what should have happened.
  23. Really sorry I can't find it but there's a Bobby Sheen - Doctor Love, 70's reissue on Ebay currently at £80 ah here it is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Northern-Soul-Bobby-Sheen-Dr-Love-Capitol-Label-/251179748680?_trksid=p2045573.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27%26meid%3D3413831402555952842%26pid%3D100033%26prg%3D1011%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D251179748680%26
  24. Thats the problem with ebays feedback system though Paul, he can say whatever he likes about me, whether it's the truth or not, but I can't say a thing in return.
  25. Yeah sorry I snapped but I can't be polite any longer under this sort of provocation
