  1. You are right. But when it comes down to it, in many cases, who knows. If you see the example I gave a page or two back, Paula Durante: 37 years have passed since that 'pressing' appeared. I do not know who manufactured it, does anyone know who manufactured it? Is it a pressing, a reissue, a second issue, a boot, a legit second pressing? The answer is that nobody knows in many cases. Things were a lot easier when people just used one all encompassing term - "PRESSING". There were no autopsies, you just knew it wasn't the original.
  2. Just to make sure there are no more mistakes made, and so that people who are unable to understand the term SECOND ISSUE don't get confused, I have now added the following to my latest Ebay sales: THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL IT IS A REISSUE THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL AS IT HAS NO STAMP IN THE RUN OFF. REISSUE FROM 1977 THIS IS A REISSUE.
  3. So would I, and I often do.
  4. But the record he is selling has not been remastered in the slightest, it's a 1977 bootleg and will be the same quality as all the other copies. If it sounds different, he's rejigged the audio file.
  5. I did a British one once, back in 1993 I think it was. Couldn't do a US one, I don't know half the records nowadays. I still think there's an opportunity to do an internet based one with input from everyone though, like that RKR database I've mentioned before. Didn't the Jeffries's get a price guide thing going a couple of years back? Was looking good from what I remember.
  6. Did you know there's a actually a search engine that will do that for you - look for something specific but with slight misspellings, for instance if you want to search for MIDDLETON it'll automatically search for Moddleton, Middletin and so on. Did you invent it Grant?
  7. Not just for you, for everybody. Well, almost everybody.
  8. You're spelling his name wrong you dozy tw*t

  10. It's alright.
  11. Ingenious! But they must have stunk, surely..
  12. Don't know why, there's half a dozen on there https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=jimmie+raye&x=17&y=16
  13. Got mine off popsike too.
  14. Found it.
  15. No the original has silver lettering mate. He has another single on KKC, also with Philly Dog in the title I think, that has a red label with black lettering. B side is Philadelphia Dawg on the one below
  16. Haven't had a cup of coffee yet mate sorry :-)
  17. Aah my old podcast. I might still have the track in my itunes if anyone wants it separated from the podcast.
  18. I've had a few opened and searched like that. One was a few Ebony magazines, they obviously thought they were jazz mags. And I've had several record packages from Jamaica opened and searched.
  19. Paris Blues is an out and out Northern Soul stomper so definitely not a beat ballad. Little Anthony is one. Most beat ballads have quiet, understated choruses then hit you with a huge chorus.
  20. Steve the one Grant is talking about is vinyl and is identical to the original apart from not having a stamp. Just sold mine on here less than 3 weeks back.
  21. Grant you are spot in, the dip comes just before the second chorus I think, the dark blue ones were followed very closely by these pale blue ones, I remember soaking one of those in bleach and it turned it white and everyone thought I'd got a white demo
  22. OK but definitely not 78 Neil, I'd stake my *reputation* on it
  23. I wouldn't go and watch Barcelona play if you paid me, they're f*cking boring. If you rephrase it and substitute the word Barcelona for Wolverhampton Wanderers then I'd probably agree with you.
  24. Yeah thats what I meant, surely not?
  25. Whats the B side of Frankie Beverly Neil?
