  1. I'm Brian and so is my wife
  2. Of course there is a USA original of this - the 33rpm mini LP made for jukeboxes with 6 tracks.
  3. Probably because 'Soul Source as long as it fits into your little pigeonhole' is a really stupid name for a forum?
  4. He wants a cheap one though...
  5. Post 15 says: Barry great idea mate just re voted
  6. Thing I find interesting about this is the results of the age of the voters - the biggest percentage is from the 50+ section - which is exactly what we have been saying all along, we're the last of a dying breed and going by the rest of the figures, there's not going to be enough people to replace us when we've gone.
  7. Found this on the net, anyone know what "The Yogi Bear Club" badge was about?
  8. Those badges were available in Ruby Red Records in Wolverhampton, from Barmy Barry in Dudley and everywhere really, in the end there must have been at least two dozen different ones, I remember buying a black and white one with a first on it bearing the legend "Keep the faith" when I was 14, my Mom sewed it on my jeand and a girl down the street going "Keep the earth, what's that?" Anyway they were something like 30p each, there's numerous ads in B & S and Black Music showing the entire set of them. Also have a look at a Contempo compilation from 74/75 as it has loads of them on the cover.
  9. Just to reiterate, Chalky sold his last year, it was a browny coloured issue not a white demo, think he might have sold it to Ted, he bought it on a trip to Detroit.
  10. How much??? I threw mine away, that was the one on a crappy bit of cloth which you had to cut out yourself.
  11. Come on Nick, if it's Northern 'related' then it's going to be London - or Stateside. For both quantity and quality - going on for 150 -200 R & B releases on each, probably 300 on London.. The again - as an out and out Northern Soul label, yes, it's untouchable. Kent maybe come close?
  12. Because people are clueless about records' values? Fantastic stuff on Grapevine but very few merit high prices, most of the high prices are artificial anyway. You only have to go back a year to a sales ad I did where I listed every Grapevine release at very sensible prices, half of them didn't sell at all.

I'm selling a mint demo for my mate but he wants £400 for it.
  14. Well the answer is that a record will last forever if it's looked after. I've got mint condition records that are over 50 years old. IF you're going to put it under laboratory conditions then of course you'll hear deterioration but if a record is handled properly and a decent stylus used, it will outlive you..
  15. Cheers Mark, this is actually an old one which used to be on my podcast site on itunes but I had to close the site down as it was costing me a fortune to run it. I had so many people email asking for a download link that I have now put it up on podomatic as a downloadable.
  16. Downloadable version https://podcast9122525417.podomatic.com/entry/2012-11-23T05_59_02-08_00

  18. Steve don't forget that you are not allowed to leave buyers any bad feedback, if you leave a 'negative positive' they will remove it, you are f*cked mate, so when you deal with idiots and thieves like we both have, we can't even warn other sellers about them. What I strongly disagree with though, is the fact that two record swappers doing it on Soul Source have been reported but are still here, as are people who send registered packages with no actual record in, fooling the buyer into signing for nothing. Still allowed to trade on here.
  19. I know Grant, I've been preaching that since the year dot, except someone came up with a vocal/inst demo recently
  20. I think Chalky (the other one) sold his for half that last year
  21. There's at least two people on here who do that, and they've been reported, and they're still here...
  22. Jock please come back and I won't look at this topic again or comment on it, I promise. No point two of us not being on it.
  23. Pot - kettle - black, you've upset more people on here in the last few months than I have in the last 10 years, and you come on here trying to belittle me and then run off when I reply to you, bizarre.
  24. No mate totally different circumstances.
  25. Patrick Hernandez was a monster disco record, one of the biggest ever. I never said it was a soul record, just a disco record. Which is why you haven't a clue what you're talking about. All disco records weren't soul records, many many of them are unlistenable junk. Boney M, do you like them? Biggest disco group in the world.
