  1. Does anyone need a really good, very fast Wireless N router? I have this one for sale, still costs £90+ in the shops, asking £35 for this one. You can see all the details on this ebay link (to my sale) but you don't have to buy it via ebay if you'd prefer not to. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Linksys-WAG320N-300-Mbps-4-Port-Gigabit-Wireless-N-Router-BARGAIN-/121034263014?pt=UK_Computing_Modem_Router_Combos&hash=item1c2e3449e6 pete.smith@freeuk.com
  2. Yeah Prince & Princess is great. Black Power is rubbish and always was rubbish from it's first play. As bad as Tim Tam. Interplay was ok. Lost Summer Love is a great 60's pop record. Burning Bush has a great intro but it's downhill from there. But we enjoyed all of them at the time, what's wrong with that? Records didn't have to pass some kind of credibility test in those days...it was a lot of fun and they were great times.
  3. He sounded similar to Elvis, that was his gimmick. I've actually got this record on Parlophone (I think)
  4. Thanks stranger.
  5. Does anyone know what year Mel Britt was originally released in?
  6. No he's not, he's been dead for 25 years! he was never an Elvis tribute, he was an Elvis copyist and he had him off to a tee, having a few hits in his own right.
  7. Great memories of early days on the Northern scene. There's hundreds of records worse than this. Have you heard that King Moses for a start?
  8. He died a few years back I think and his records were auctioned off, but I seem to remember most of them had their centres knocked out...sorry to be so vague.
  9. I know they are, why do you keep telling me this??
  10. thank goodness for that...
  11. In the dark?

  13. Had a very obscure single issued here on President circa 1968. Think it's called "Can't get you out of my head".
  14. https://www.limestone...thor/author.htm https://www.limestone...or/authorBK.htm https://www.limestone...r/authortoc.htm Excellent condition, very slight use to cover, had this since it was published and it's been in storage for 10 years £16.99 including postage if anyone's interested Has some fantastic Florida label discogs - in fact, probably all 60's Florida label discogs Over 400 pages
  15. No I still don't get what we are arguing about. I said most Emidiscs were legitimate acetates cut for artists, producers, dj's etc, and some blanks were used for Northern Soul bootlegs. Then you said the same thing. But in your first post you said that they were just bootlegs...
  16. No sorry you are way out, yes a lot of Emidisc blanks were used for cutting Northern tracks but there's ten times as many proper acetates cut using Emidiscs, half of the Beatles for a start, this one is not a bootleg it's a legitimate acetate....I've had loads of them, non-Northern Emidisc acetates.
  17. Might just be a publishers acetate, trying to sell the song to a UK artist
  18. It's an acetate. An aliminium record coated with lacquer. Emidisc is just the brand name.
  19. I think they will still be remembered but only in the way that we enjoy looking back with radio shows like Pick Of The Pops, I just listened to saturdays edition featuring 1965 and it was fantastic. I don't think that any of the named bands will be revered in the way that The Beatles have been for the last 50 years.
  20. Actually I bought the Italian Chapter Five of him...and countless other 45's....he gets some amazing stuff.
  21. SINGLES BAR 4 Another batch of (mainly) early Reggae scorchers, this time from my much neglected Jamaican 45's collection, I spend so much time collecting UK labels that I rarely look at these, which is a shame because as you'll hear, there are some belters on this particular cloudcast. By the way for the people who keep asking me to make them downloadable - sorry, can't do, Mixcloud is listen only and I don't have any space to put them elsewhere (unless someone can tell me how to host my own podcasts on my own website (the website is made with WordPress). https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/singles-bar-4/ DERRICK MORGAN — WHAT’S YOUR GROUSE RUPIE EDWARDS — UNCERTAIN LOVE HOPTON LEWIS — TESTIFY SOUL TOPS — SWING BABY SWING ERIC BARNET — QUAKER CITY DENNIS ALCAPONE — SPANISH AMIGO CRYSTALITES — SIC HIM ROVER KING STITT — RHYMING TIME KINGSTONIANS — MIX IT UP ETHIOPIANS — REGGAE HITS THE TOWN PRINCE BUSTER — NEW DANCE CALLED REGGAE JOE WHITE — PRESIDENT ROCK GAYSETTERS — ONE LOOK UPSETTERS — MY MOB GAYLADS — LOOKING FOR A GIRL ROLAND ALPHONSO — MELLOW MOOD JOHN & JOYA — I’LL BE LONELY TECHNIQUES — MAN OF MY WORD PARAGONS — MAN NEXT DOOR U ROY JR — LOVE IS WHAT I BRING VERSATILES — SPREAD YOUR BED RUPIE EDWARDS — LONG LOST LOVE EBONY SISTERS — LET ME TELL YOU BOY PAT KELLY — IF IT DON’T WORK OUT PAT KELLY — I AM COMING HOME
  22. That's actually a really collectable 45 and very hard to find! ("Kinky Boots") I bet it goes for over £20 even in Fair.
  23. Good spot Kev
  24. Don't know, but sounds like an American girl not UK - terrible sound quality though.
  25. Give me a big skirt and I could do that
