  1. Also if you remember, Spark Records were heavily involved with the Casino, all their releases got spins e.g. Ruth Swann - Tainted love, Linda & The Funky Boys, Gene Latter, Val McKenna - Love feeling.
  2. Exactly - this falls right in the middle of that period - I remember "The Night" was No.1 in that chart of top spins
  3. Harold Melvin 1975, Tommy Hunt 1975, spot the connection
  4. It did, but wasn't that after they found the other Wakefield Sun record?
  5. Well I think that's probably true - as I was saying on another topic, I reckon all Blue beats and Islands came out as blanks, even if only in a tiny quantity
  6. I'm not sure this even came out over here. Weird credits, it's obviously Buster doing most of the vocals but he isn't credited. Never seen or heard of a copy. Seen a few Jamaican blanks but those are very rare too. But I think it's on the Wreck A Pum Pum LP.
  7. Steve, Dave, I will bet you a fiver it was Tommy Hunt, I'll dig out a casino tape where they play it and announce it as Tommy Hunt it sounds nothing like Bob Kuban's version, Bob Kuban's version is little-known now and was more or less unknown then.
  8. No it was more likely to have been Tommy Hunt's version, recorded as a cover along with Crackin Up Over You, these were massive Wigan spins courtesy of Russ and I think they were in top 3 in the "Wigan Casino Chart" that appeared in Record Mirror.

  10. A few years ago I sold one on here and I hadn't realised it was a demo, the not for sale is very small, anyway when the guy got it, he then took the piss out of me for not noticing! Throw it back in my face why don't you...
  11. What about when you reply to a want and offer it as a reasonable price, and the person who wants it then says okay I'll take it off you if you do free postage as if he's doing you a favour...
  12. If you need any of these recording, I've got about 90% of them I think. (Not the records, just the tracks) p.s. 223 should be Syko & The Caribs
  13. Great record though...
  14. No way, thats the sort of thing I throw away. Useless 70's promos. I'll start saving them for you!
  15. To be fair, only two say they are promos, one says red and black, the other says nothing... I have to reiterate that I was only pointing out that I, Me, had never seen one, not that they didn't exist or where the worlds rarest record. No doubt I"ve had records a few times that other people have never clapped eyes upon.
  16. Not much point him asking when the auction's finished!
  17. Don't think anyone would dispute that?
  18. I used to think this (well still do really) but Royal Mail have to pay Customs & Excise to release the mail on our behalf, so obviously they have to get that back, not sure what the handling charge is for though
  19. Don't doubt that, it was played as a new release anyway
  20. He probably just guessed!
  21. It'd have a job, Wigan had been closed for a few years before Magic Touch was even discovered
  22. I do like interesting facts like this.
  23. Why would anyone think Lonzine Cannon is a male singer????
  24. Sounds exactly spot on to me...
  25. I can't find one, under that name...
