  1. Maybe a slip of the zeros there..
  2. You know what, I've had more people ' favouriting' these two podcasts than any other I've done for mixcloud. But these are exactly the sort of records I'd play if I was djing (if I had the records of course).
  3. What's not to like?!

  5. I recently added 100 or so cd's to my Amazon store so if you're interested please do check it out, they include new Kent releases included the much vaunted Pied Piper cd. Also added some new books, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Brian Jones, Yardbirds etc - enough to keep the casual browser amused for 10 minutes anyway. https://www.amazon.co...=A1VDSA1VPOJRPX There should be a new Northern list out on either wednesday or thursday, I'm not sure yet. There may also be a Reggae list this week with some rare stuff included cheers Pete
  6. IN theory, yes, but in this case, neither are hard, thats what I'm saying...also I've had more issues than demos so...
  7. I don't think Bazz was advocating every venue play it Chalky, just that it was forgotten, and to be honest I really like to hear these Youth Club records now and again when I haven't heard them for years. I don't like it much either but I can understand why people do, especially people who were on the scene before me. Same as Frankie Valli, Newbeats - I think you had to be there to see what impact this sort of record did have in the early, pre-import days.
  8. Can't believe people don't know it. Mr M's staple. Made number 11 in the pop charts.
  9. They really are poor efforts, just one sided carvers with stuck on labels. (From what I can see!)
  10. That's just a joke. Must be 100,000 copies in the UK, easily. I'll never sell this for more than £25 for an issue or £30 for a demo.
  11. And I'll disagree with you and agree with Dave that "It's Love" is one of the greatest Detroit records made, with Van McCoy somewhere in on the act (can't remember whether he was just the writer or he arranged it).
  12. Whats that record by a solo female singer on Volt (red and black label), got the same title as a really well known track, it's brilliant - can't remember what it is though! yeah it was this one, Ruby Johnson - Weak Spot, oh my goodness when it hits the chorus...BLAM!
  13. I had that as Northern before the term crossover had been invented - then it got hijacked!
  14. Give 'em to someone who does it as a full time job to sell
  15. Neither are rare are they? £25 tops. Fantastic record though.
  16. There are a couple of small differences like the intro being repeated on one version but yeah it's basically the same record
  17. It is I'm afraid. On those vinyl ones, they look so like the original but if you look closely you'll see some tiny spots in the run off, the originals don't have those.
  18. Well I never. TImes I've had that and never played the b side!
  19. Yeah mine was definitely the bottom one as well.
  20. Steve is that your site? If so, or even if not, whoevers site it is, can I offer a friendly observation? It might have been just me but I can't see anywhere on the site where it says who is behind the site and where it is based. I like to know who I'm dealing with but there's no name anywhere, not even on the email address. If it said somewhere "Proprietor Joe Bloggs, based in lancs UK" or whatever I'd feel much more secure...
  21. Oh dear I can't remember now, it must have been the one at the bottom, definitely not the top two. Not in 1974 anyway.
  22. Can any of you tell me about a track called That Was My Girl by The Parliaments, I put it on a podcast this week having never even heard it previously, very much in the vein of I Can Feel The Ice Melting and truly superb.
  23. I listened to Bobby Kline again and I have to say it's nowhere near as bad as I remember it and is in fact pretty good. So my most hated record ever has to be Larry Houston- Let's Spend Some Time Together which is so awful I don't think words have been invented for it. Awful in relation to the Northern Soul scene I mean. Away from that, I don't know. Probably still terrible but not as bad.
  24. I didn't mention any of those because it would be a lie to say they were never off my turntable, I understand why people older than me would relate to that album but by the time I was of LP buying age, that had been deleted.
