  1. Roy's copy does have an A on it, he told me yesterday Tom. Re. dennis D'Ell issue - at the time there were only one or two, since then probably ten or so
  2. You're right, it sure does.
  3. Dave - Roy's and someone who bought a copy of Mick in the mid 90's, name unknown! But I'm not going to stand here and argue with you or anyone else about 'number of known copies'. I just say what I know. Speaking to Roy yesterday and we both agree that these are actually demos and not issues.
  4. It was on this list for £225 OH MY GOD look at some of the stuff on that list!
  5. Blimey that's double what I sold it for. No wonder I'm always broke!
  6. Dave there are at least 4 or 5 blue copies - ask Steve G, he's got a blue one, bet he'd swap it for the black one!
  7. Spot on. If we didn't 'know' who the artist was and it was a one off blank label, I bet nobody would ever guess that the singer was Paul Anka. I hate this snobbishness and there's just no need for it. This is one of the best Northern Soul records discovered in the 70's, nothing can change that fact.
  8. Nobodys saying they are soul - they are Northern Soul - you should know this. Show me where anyone has said Paul Anka is a soul record.
  9. Someone designs reggae sleeves, have seen them on ebay, basically just white sleeves with the label logo at the top
  10. Someone just contacted me out of the blue and said do you think this might be worth anything...he is a soul collector though
  11. Your info was incorrect Mr K...it was, because nobody had the black label issue except Roy and one other - until now.
  12. Yes it is. The dead wax tells you everything you need to know about records.
  13. Have a look in the run off groove, if it's got a scratched in number it's a counterfeit, if it's stamped in, it's an original
  14. I found you - you've got a mixed bag of originals and reissues...Don Varner, Sandra Phillips, Benny Sigler are reissues, Spyder Turner is orig but only a £10 record, Jimmy Conwell I can't tell from the scan but if real, £40 plus, Little Richard is original £15 or so, 4 Below Zero 12" is rare nowadays, again anything from £30 to £50. Frank Wilson, well that can go from anything from £20 to £100, depends if some nutter bids on it. Good luck with them anyway.
  15. True..
  16. What's your seller name on ebay?
  17. But doesn't it miss out them signing for Bang?
  18. Great article but doesn't that more or less prove that I was right about it being an unrelated group?
  19. Yes but you never know, some records were available 30 years ago for £1, £2, and they are now £200...you may be surprised. On the other hand, you may have a load of old junk LOL but the fact you have an original Taj Mahal is a start..
  20. Spend a few weeks doing the research so you are armed with the correct knowledge. People are always happy to help.
  21. I know it's an original because it was never reissued on that label, it was reissued on Columbia Special Products label, totally different design. Also because I know everything Anyway nobody minds answering questions...it's what makes it a good site. John Manships last price guide (not the new one) is the best book for showing how to identify pressings. But you can also use sites like www.popsike.com to see what originals look like. If you get stuck, send me 20 titles at a time (artist, title, label) and I'll tell you what you need to know.
  22. Big Frank is Frank Murphy, Benji. Is he also Frank Dell?
  23. What do you need to know? It's an original. Worth £20 to £30.
