  1. And such a contrary statement, most of if not all of those artists had records played at Wigan casino...
  2. So if you didn't go, how do you apparently know so much about it? See cos I went many many times and don't remember actually hearing many pop records...
  3. Cheaper than you'd think You should be able to do the 10 and 20 for under £8 registered 50 and 100 less than £20 by parcel post in fact probably around £22 by special delivery
  4. You're cutting off your nose to spite your face. The producer worked with the likes of Nina Simone and The Jive Five. The melody is incredible. I just don't get it.
  5. My apologies to all listeners who have been starved of Ska, Reggae & Rocksteady for a couple of weeks, I got so into doing the "Thinking Man's Oldies" series that I forgot you lot! So I'll try and upload a couple of podcasts today, this one is a compilation of 45's I did about 2 years back but as far as I know, I never actually uploaded it to Mixcloud. 6. Good theory but I doubt LOndon SA wouldn't have had that much info - and what if it was a mixed group?
  7. What kind of name is that to launch yourself as a superstar, Perk Badger?
  8. You probably haven't even heard it
  9. Pretty good but did you beat me to it on ebay 3 weeks ago?
  10. Multi coloured is a definite legal reissue. But I'd play it off a fried egg shaped picture disc before anyone told me what I could play..
  11. LINDA JONES - MY HEART NEEDS A BREAK - YELLOW LABEL LOMA ISSUE Visual condition, held to light probably VG++ I had graded it as EX-. Important - plays grade is between EXCELLENT AND MINT No clicks, scratches, hisses, nothing - totally perfect play copy. £90 postage £2.25 recorded or £6.30 registered cheers pete
  12. Beat me to it. Brilliant record.
  13. I'm not arguing about when and where these records were played because that's really easy information to find out. I'm still arguing that the orange 77 label copies were not available until at least 1977 in most cases.
  14. Yeah but the proper LP was released in 66
  15. That Brenda Holloway "Cashing In" is nice I think it was recorded in the 90's or 2000's.
  16. I've had a jackie Edwards and something else, quite unusual, forgot what it was now...might have been Julian Covey? Eddie Parker also on this label I think
  17. Yes - doubt it - yes. I can say with 99.9% certainty that Ted Ford was played at Wigan in 1977 and it was definitely DEFINITELY released on orange 77 label at the end of that year and not before. Little Ritchie was released at the same time because a rubbish looking Sound Stage 77 bootleg had appeared a month or two earlier. Breakaway and Ann Sexton also then appeared on orange 77 label. Breakaway had previously been out 2 years earlier as had LRitchie. Or I could be mistaken.
  18. So if I go through all the Black Wax adverts in Black Music from 1975 I'll find it will I? Only asking cos don't want to waste half an hour
  19. You're all wrong show me some evidence that the coloured 77 label was around in 74/75. Then I'll shut up.
  20. Little Ritchie and Breakaways and Ted Ford and Ann Sexton - all done (on multicolour 77 label) in 77 Dave. Ann Sexton not even played in 74 let alone reissued!
  21. Blue label / red label - why?
  22. You know what, I'm starting to think that maybe it is a 1966 release - I just don't understand why it would only be released there, that's all.
  23. Yes it does, but the typeface doesn't look right, especially the info on the right hand side. I just don't know about this, when did they stop doing tri centres, anyone? And why would the only release in the world of The Champion on a 45 in 1965/66 be in the extremely limited market of South Africa?
