  1. Ted for some reason I thought I'd bought an old copy of yours but it might have been that guy, the one who embezzled the money - anyway it was £400 off Mick Smith and I also got a Sam Williams for £300 and a Lonnie Russ 'say girl' demo for £200, Monique 'If you love me" for £250 and a Rotations D9 demo for £150. All in one go.
  2. not going to disagree with you!
  3. Amazing how these go up so much, I bought one for £400 and sold it for £500 6 months later, that was in 2001 I think, even though it's over a decade later, it's increased in price 5 fold! By the way the Sugar Simone single above is rare in soul collections but common in reggae collections, was a big seller to the West Indians in 67/68. They all bought it for the slow A side.
  4. Nah I'll just stick it on here at 70 quid I think
  5. If you're asking a genuine question about EX and EX+, EX+ (to me) is a record that's been played maybe once or twice, ever. EX will have been played a few times and maybe has some sleeve removal marks or something like that. I won't use any grade higher than EX+ now.
  6. No, you're just being pathetic.
  7. The problem is that it does affect the base rate of a record - these mad auction prices have affected countless 45's - I'm always glad when we can kick against this
  8. Even less any noise smartarse
  9. You could be right, shall I put it to the test?
  10. There was this (to my ears) not particularly good record sold in a Manship auction 3 or 4 months ago, Mel Vena Allen - The Bigger Your Heart - Salvador. As far as I were concerned, this was a £25 to £40 job. And of course it went for £300...cue a discussion with most people agreeing that it wasn't worth anything like that. Wouldn't you know it, I got one through yesterday, so checked JM's website, one for sale up there, £300. So what to do, go with the flow and stick it out at £250? Or do what my conscience says and put it out for £75? It is a DJ copy, don'yt know if that makes any difference. I shouldn't have kept quiet
  11. I put one up for sale yesterday, EX condition, took £250 for it...
  12. Yeah they are all rare, all about the same really. However none of them as rare as that Dean Courtney on black MGM I had, still never seen another one.
  13. Tweaked a few prices, might be worth a second look
  14. Was wondering about this, I have a mint/spotless white demo to sell and I was thinking maybe £125 yet the last two on here have both been on Anglo lists, issues I think, both 3120 and neither sold. Has this one had it's day? £100 fairer price?
  15. Yeah but could she change a tyre?
  16. Nice though it is to look at, every single copy has that stamp so why am I looking at it?
  17. Yes I have one, on the Chante label, both sides recommended, thinking of around £100 on this one?
  18. Yes of course. An ex won't have any noise on it. A vg+ will.
  19. Thats British, the one I was selling is American
  20. Sold for £125 within 2 minutes of the list going out to my subscribers...

  22. Yes but the Mowest reissue sold 100,000 copies and made the top 10, it shouldn't really be worth more than a single by The Wombles or Mud, the black Tamla Motown issue was in the late 70's and probably only sold a couple of thousand.
  23. Don Ray is brilliant and super rare on a black issue, I think I've only ever had one. Paul Anka, never thought much of it but for the last 2 years or so it's been one of the UK's top revived oldies, hence the price going up from £25 to £125.
