  1. First one I've had I think, either colour. Tell you what, it's hard work selling good quality originals at very reasonable prices - I might have to start doubling the prices, maybe that's the way to go!
  2. There's an old thread about that test press elsewhere on the site. Being a Stardust release, can't see how it would be worth anything, soz! (I've had one of them as well)
  3. You'll soon get fed up of doing them for free, the bloke puts a lot of work into them, right down to laminating them and putting 60's style flip back seams on the reverse.
  4. That era spans three decades though!
  5. It must have been bad if I censored it seeing some of the stuff that I put in
  6. Was it broken when he received it or just when you received it back? If it was in one piece when he received it - I'd have thought it was his job to return it to you safely.
  7. Plus it's a lovely sleeve!
  8. He's not trying to sell it as some original picture sleeve, he just says it's a unique picture sleeve to this record, which it is! The person who made it only does 5 or 6 of every sleeve. I don't think phillydog is misrepresenting it at all.
  9. Well it's not really a repro, there's a guy on ebay who designs these sleeves and sells them in very limited quantities, I have to say I think his work is fantastic, never bought any myself but they do look great.
  10. Nobody's gonna copy a photo of that quality, trust me

  15. Yeah I had no idea til someone sent it back to me, and it was near mint
  16. Might not have been you, I had one that played like that as well, and it was new!
  17. Really never heard of him? Solo artist and also produced people like ... well this is directly from wiki Other notable production credits include Halfnelson (first incarnation of Sparks), New York Dolls, Badfinger, Grand Funk Railroad, Hall & Oates, Ian and Sylvia (on their "Great Speckled Bird" album), Meat Loaf, Patti Smith, Shaun Cassidy, The Tubes, Tom Robinson Band, XTC, Bad Religion, John Sloman, Cheap Trick, Hello People, Hiroshi Takano, Bourgeois Tagg, Dragon (aka Hunter), 12 Rods, The Pursuit of Happiness, The Psychedelic Furs, Steve Hillage, The American Dream, and many others.
  18. Silly man. What version did you hear, there are hundreds. The original single is the best record ever made.
  19. Thanks everyone for the info, much appreciated. So Kazia and Doris Wilson left really, the Doris Wilson's on popsike are abysmally low yet the dealer prices are very high, can't work that one out yet.
  20. No sorry Graham, nothing left on Sue now except for a couple of lp's (Sue Story on London and Sue Story 2 (I think) on Sue). Sold em all...
  21. Black Music and Blues & Soul was where I first heard about her and the words written about her were so powerful I had to hear her, but at that time, aged 13/14, 25p a week pocket money, none of her records available in the UK (as far as I knew) and nothing played on the radio. How did people to get to hear stuff in those days? So I don't think I did ever hear anything by her until Just Can't Live My Life was issued in 1975 due to Northern demand. Plus I kept mixing her up with Lorraine Ellison which didn't help.
  22. Hats of indeed! This isn't about John and never has been, why people think I have slagged him off I don't know because I haven't and I don't, quite the opposite, it's the auctions themselves or rather the end prices on daft records that I bang on about, hence this topic where we've all come to the conclusion that the record is worth £30 tops.
  23. Six! I'm amazed...
