This is an Ian Levine production LOL, he recorded her on a whole album of remakes in 1999 for Marathon Media, the people who bootlegged it obviously ripped it off youtube thinking it was the original version. Sorry I have to disagree, firstly, I did make it plain that it was extremely easy to spot the concentric circle pattern on the label, and secondly, I have no idea if the handwriting on the numbers is the same on original and copy.

I always check mine and don't put in anything under VG - I only do them in 50's and 100's though when I do them

Without wising to state the blindingly obvious - Ian, why on earth didn't you check the bloody records before you posted them to weed out any scratched or broken ones, you shouldn't be sending out broken records in the first place.

Was asked to post this from Ian Levine - DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER! Please reproduce this from me in the soul pack thread The guy who had the soul pack didn't tell anybody that.... A -when he said he had 300 records that wouldn't play I gladly offered to swap them for an even amount of others. B - I offered him a further 300 from the next shipment of all 60s Northern C - I had given him eighty free records in case any were cracked D - Plus of course I gave him those lookalikes, all of which had cost me fifty quid each in hard cash. He refused to be reasonable. Fearing for my stress after a stroke, I tried everything to pacify him. But he assured me in writing, on a Facebook message, that that would be an end of it, he would say no more and we were quits. The guy is a barefaced liar who has forever ruined my life and now has made me hate the soul scene.

If anyone has 'distressed' the records, they've done it themselves after receiving them so that's nothing to go on. And as Maslar says below, the previously not on singles releases are the easiest to spot because...they don't exist

yeah there's definitely not an old one, I remember getting it cut for myself on a proper metal acetate in about 2000 and I wouldn't have done that if there were a boot. I've actually had an original of this once, I sold it on Soul Source, long long ago
