    More information about "Fantastic Detroit Tv Show 1966"
    I had the Elgins clip from this show for ages but the whole episode is on youtube and I didn't know about it. Swingin' Time, a local Detroit tv show from 1966. Features The Rationals (four white kids, garage band), Tom & Jerrio (minus one of them who'd just been drafted!), Buddy Lamp performing you"ve Got The Loving Touch, Wayne Cochran with the worst hairdo and terrible miming but still great to watch, two superb numbers from The Magnificent Men and two numbers from The Elgins. This was a real treat to watch, thank heaven for youtube. Posted in all about the soul as I wanted everyone to see it!

    There's another full episode which is a tribute to The Supremes, the three girls in the studio doing a live interview (Florence most prominent) and they meet up with their old school principal etc, Berry Gordy appears, The Marvelettes perform a medley, and audience members do Supremes impersonations. Oh, and Johnny Tillotson turns up for some reason. Nice, but drags a little.

    I used to be able to do it but can't see well enough now. It's very easy, all you need is a good magnifier and a scalpel. I think Boba said he could do something.

    JOHNNY MAE MATTHEWS - I HAVE NO CHOICE / THAT'S WHEN IT HURTS - BIG HIT 105. This one is a typical 'never been kept in a sleeve' copy, crackly especially at the start, improves as it proceeds, but does have audible background noise. You can hear the actual record on the podcast below and make up your own mind (every records on that podcast is or was for sale) It's at 49 mins 30 seconds approximately. Asking £300.     Steve I think I sold you a couple of rare 70's white demos - I've not seen copies since: Andre Maurice - You're the cream of the crop - Bale WD Kim Tolliver - I don't know what foot to dance on - Castro WD both of those must be mega rare but both are cheap

    Exactly. But it's £60 tops. I've got a vg+ one for £30 if any takers. Crackles a bit in one channel.

    Fantastic work mate, this is what it's all about, sharing information after doing amazing detective work. I always feel humbled by the likes of yourself, Andy Rix etc who somehow manage to collate all of this knowledge and share it with us. Just think what we wouldn't know if it weren't for guys like these. I'd like to thank you all for educating us.

    Mentioned this before but I got my first one of a UK pop list where it was described as a "Gene Pitney soundalike" Got the high bid, £400.
