I would say 'unbelievable' but it's not. I even had one guy who came round to do a one for one swap and he was on my left looking at records and I could see him pull a record out, move it to the side of the box and start to move it to his side to hide it under his jumper...I said "so that's the one you want is it" and he looks shocked and says "oh yeah, this one". I was also told a story about two people, let's call them dealer 1 and dealer 2. Dealer 2 went to see dealer 1 to buy a quantity of records, he was there for quite a while and kept nipping to the toilet. Eventually when dealer 1 went to the toilet himself, he found several records stashed by dealer 2 'hidden' in the bathroom. Dealer 1 told me this story himself.

Skatalites & Friends - Killer Diller - New Podcast
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in All About the SOUL
No not a chance...the only one of theirs to get anywhere near back in the 60's was Guns Of Navarone. -
This is my tribute to some of the greatest musicians ever to record music in Jamaica, I do have literally hundreds of Skatalites tracks but I know that instrumental compilations can be boring so I've whittled this down to 25 or so of the real top top tunes. The collective of musicians recorded under a bewildering number of names; often the lead soloist would be given credit, other times they would be named after the producer that they recorded for, anyway all of these tracks feature The Skatalites or members of The Skatalites band. For a great history of the band, here is their Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Skatalites I do hope you enjoy this one, the music is simply awesome. https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/the-skatalites-friends-killer-diller/ SKATALITES - TIMOTHY SKATALITES - BALL OF FIRE BUSTERS ALL STARS - JET 707 KING EDWARD ALLSTARS - FOUR SEASONS OF THE YEAR SKATALITES - CLEOPATRA SKATALITES - MISS SKA CULATION KING EDWARD ALLSTARS - LON CHANEY SKATALITES - LUCKY SEVEN SKATALITES - KILLER DILLER ROLAND AL & THE SOUL BROS - PHOENIX CITY SKATALITES - DR. This is why it's too difficult to choose favourites, I'm doing a "Skatalites & Friends" podcast tonight, around 35 tracks, and at least 20 of them deserve to be called all time classics, it's impossible to choose the best, how about this one for a start THE SKATALITES - CLEOPATRA

Zeke & The Setters, Instrumental To William Cummings
Pete S replied to charliew's topic in Record Wants
Hurting Thing. People often get that title wrong. Comes from when it came out on a Soul Supply LP and that's what they printed the title as. -

Got a feeling that the bootlegs have the title in the run off, there's a batch of a couple of hundred titles all from the same manufacturer / bootlegger -

What a FANTASTIC record - anyone know what year this is from? -
Hmmm - yeah - but it made sense to sell them when so many represses kept coming out, and I need that f*cking kitchen done (work now started, hoorah!)

Nah it's easy - just buy reissues!

It was already sold which is why I removed it

I sold one end of last year for £250 I think it was, though that may have been a bit cheap. It came from Chalky who got it from Stewart Ames in person.

White repress has Aneglina on both sides.

No there's a white original demo with King For A Day on B side, yellow is the issue

That'll teach me not to read the descriptions
