He did, didn't he. Did a Stax compilation.
-
Not here to argue about it mate, just wondered if the name of the singer makes it a better record or not. Also, how did he get the backing track?
-
Makes you remember what a dangerous place this ways in the early 70's though, actually it was like that throughout the 70's
-
He played them to me a few months ago, they both sounded good - the Willie Tee and the Melvin Carter - didn't cross my mind to ask if they weren't the real artists. I just try and enjoy the music without carrying out an autopsy on the tracks.
-
By the way, I did know what all of those were when I did the podcast! Willie Hutch is Lou Roberts if thats the only one missing

Will miss you Paul, always enjoyed out meet ups at our layby near Bromsgrove where we'd swap records and chat away. You even came down to see me when I was in St Leonards On Sea I remember. Paul was a lovely bloke who went back years, massive knowledge about records and soul music. I may have been confused about the instructions as I was told not to mention this on Facebook or social media by his partner but maybe she changed her mind later in the day so I apologise for not posting it up yesterday.

Current Bootleg Trading (split from Soul Pack thread)
Pete S replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
Why the need for you to poke your nose in and reply to every comment I make on this group, go and stalk someone else who might have the slightest interest in your non-stop, petty jibes. -
Cheers Steve for the info. I can guarantee it won't be a tenner though :-)

Current Bootleg Trading (split from Soul Pack thread)

The Greater Experience I posted up yesterday was sold in late November, and was also one of a small batch obtained from a member of the group and was an original. It was bought from the countrys or worlds top dealer. -

And renowned record dealer Sean didn't notice the record wasn't an original. Paid for it, popped it on the shelf, didn't bother playing it or djing with it. Waste of time buying it then eh? -
I love her...

I've got some really stunning outtakes from the Young Americans album if anyone wants to hear them. Alternative versions, early mixes and so on. They also cut the best track from the original album to make way for the dreadful version of Across The Universe - it's called It's Gonna Be Me.
-
I've got four people trying to buy this off me now, I was only trying to find out if it was known or not!

I don't want another one Jim but someone might...never know, could be worth something one day
