Musicor And Dynamo Unreleased 60S Soul...how Much Of It?
Pete S replied to Britmusicsoulfan's topic in All About the SOUL
There was an independently produced Jimmy Radcliffe cd released about 6 years ago with demos and unissued tracks from his Musicor years -
A New Version Of Lou Pride Im Coming Home In The Morning ?

...full of cover versions -
The last time someone gave me a set of these to sell, there were no takers at all. I had to sell them individually. Those were all minters as well.

A New Version Of Lou Pride Im Coming Home In The Morning ?

I think you're on your own there Waggy... -
I had a Poets - She blew a good thing on Belgian London, never seen another, barely raised an eyebrow!
-
Can't understand why as USA copy, issue or demo, would sell for more than £125, honestly. The British copy will always get a decent price. Belgian one? Rare but as much demand?

If "Kickasstorrents" is legal, then yes. Anyway I watched it. It says it's not based on fact but is a fictionalised version of what happened. It concentrates solely on the relationship between Phil and his lawyers. It gives an interesting insight into the strange world of Phil Spector but little else. It ends very abruptly as if they got fed up and just wanted to finish it there and then. I'd give it 4 out of 10.
-
I think I did, long time ago. The Harthon instrumentals are very basic aren't they. I really like the Phil Spector one though.

Here's a collection of acetates and unissued versions, mainly Northern Soul but also including some girl group gems and a couple of beat tracks as well. Some may have now been released, I know Pixies Three, Ad Libs and Ellie Greenwich have, the rest, I don't know, it's just over an hour of 'interesting' tracks and versions to kill a bit of time. Gloria Jones for instance, it's a different mix and is much longer than the 45. I should just add that most of these are freely available to download on youtube, the rest are from my collection. GLORIA JONES - TAINTED LOVE (ALT) THE LOLLIPOPS - HE'S THE BOY UNKNOWN ARTIST - HIS LOVE IS AMAZING UNKNOWN ARTIST - LONG TWINE PIXIES THREE - SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL AD LIBS - YOU'LL ALWAYS BE IN STYLE WRECKING CREW - WRECKING CREW THEME FRANK WILSON - TELL ME CLARE TORRY - DO I JIMMY BISHOP TRIO - IF YOU CAN'T BE TRUE JEWEL & THE McCRACKLIN BAND - I WANT LOVE BABY LITTLE CARL & THE DETROIT HITMEN - THE TINGLE DEE DEE SHARP - I'LL DO ANYTHING THE ENCORES - HEARTS BEATING STRONGER (BACKING TRACK) TEENA & THE FIESTAS - YOU'RE THE REASON MY HEART BEATS ELLIE GREENWICH - CALL ME HIS SHARON McMAHON - WHERE THERE IS LOVE TIMI YURO - SPOIL ME ANDY FISHER - MY HEARTS BEATING STRONGER FLASH McKINLEY - JUST AIN'T FAIR VAN McCOY - HEY LOVER DORIS TROY - BUT I LOVE HIM MARVA JOSIE - JOEY'S KISSES NOONEY RICKETT - A MAN NEEDS LOVE MERRY CLAYTON - I STRUCK A MATCH DEREK MARTIN - PUT SOME LOVE INTO MY LIFE JIMMY RADCLIFFE - THIS DIAMOND RING THE ACTION - GIRL WHY YOU WANNA MAKE ME BLUE THE RONETTES - BABY LET'S BE LOVERS JAY BLACK - WALK AWAY LIKE A WINNER https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/rare-acetates-unreleased-tracks/

Already available to download - Helen Mirren in it as well. I'll watch it after the football and report back.

Sample This - The Story Of The Incredible Bongo Band
Pete S commented on an article in News Archives
Interesting stuff Gaz. I actually remember Bongo Rock being played on the radio in 72-73, it must have been on Radio Luxemburg though I would have thought, I often get it mixed up with another record from the same time called "Dan The Banjo Man" by, er, Dan The Banjo Man, which was out around the same time and also got played a lot on Luxemburg. -
I have heard it at a nighter (I only stopped going to nighters, weekenders etc about 4 years ago!) and I know exactly what you're saying...
-
This record certainly appears to split opinion down the middle, either love it or hate it, I'm somewhere inbetween the middle of those two extremes bordering on 'liking' it. The problem is, although the intro is a call to arms to the dance floor, there's not much else to it really...I think it's a good record, not a great one, but if quality equates to money, then Frank Wilson is worth a million times more than this.
-
Hope nobody bought it as an original.
-
Think they are on about James Bounty?
-
Cheers, wasn't sure, was a new one to me to be honest

Could be, could even be later to be honest, but it's definitely 77 or later. -
Love the title by the way - Crooked Little Finger - maybe she had arthritis?

I spend weeks trying to sell one, it gets cheaper and cheaper, no takers, so I give it back to it's owner and then someone puts a want up for it. If I had a quid for every time thats happened, I'd have about 12 quid by now
