I got this today from Mr. Flynn and I swear I've not only never seen this before, I've never heard of it! It's the exact same record as Baltimore & Ohio Marching Band but credited to The Honor Society. It only books at £15 - for a record I've never heard of that seems to be a very low valuation. Surely has to be rare than Baltimore?

Just play the right records in the right order and you'll be alright :-)

It's a reissue David. Original styrene will have a triangle symbol followed by 68876. Styrene is the very brittle plastic which would snap if you tried to bend it and the label can be peeled off. Vinyl is more flexible and you cannot remove the label. There are vinyl originals of I'm On My Way of course.

I think what happened is that Soul City, both the label and the shop, went into receivership at the same time, this was after he'd sent the masters of the next single to be pressed and no copies came back. They'd just done a new distribution deal with CBS but no product appeared. But what I'd like to know is - why did I'll Never Forget You come out as Marke Jackson in the States on Jamie and is that a real release?

Yeah I read about a dozen issues on saturday and it inspired me to put a mix together of all the records that were mentioned at the time, amazing how scarce some of them were but they are actually common today!
