Yeah remember when I was nearly on 10,000 positives and that tw*t left me a negative because he didn't know what a second issue was? And he was on here as well. Been saying for years if only there was an alternative..
  2. Don't get you? She says what's happened, she wasn't paid for a record. End of story, nothing to do with anyone else. She obviously doesn't know how to use the feedback system.
  3. No your hearing is spot on
  4. Why would anyone auction something like that anyway, most British collectors have got it and the rest don't want it!
  5. Nancy I think there's a few more people on here who would have been interested, just read back through the thread.
  6. Thats alright, I need a new nickname
  7. Thanks for the offer Chalky and I might take you up on that as I've got at least 30 more to do, but I'm going to give it a rest for a bit now anyway, too much of a good thing and all that.
  8. The Dome and The Rocket were the last couple that really tried to do this weren't they?
  9. Toys out of the pram time, this is the second topic I've had to close down because of people with agendas. No actually thinking about it, not posting the tapes just punishes the people who enjoy them. Bit daft letting a couple of people spoil it for everyone else really.
  10. You do care because you keep harping on about it Russ, shame you can't just listen and enjoy them like everyone else does. On each one I have to record cassette onto cd, get the cd onto the pc, convert it to mp3, then edit it, finalise it, then post it up, write the track listing, the whole process takes 2 and a half to 3 hours, it doesn't sit too well with me when after I do all that, I get someone telling me I'm not doing it right.
  11. It doesn't matter even if it's free, someone always has to moan don't they, in this case, you Russ, just be grateful someone does this sort of thing for Christs sake. I can only record 74 minutes from a 90 minute tape so I have to lose 16 minutes, and as they are my tapes, I can cut out what the hell I like, so the ten minute disco 12" will be removed. If you don't like it, you go and source your own tapes and post them up. But no, you'd rather let someone else do all the work and then f*cking moan about it. If you don't like it - don't listen to it.
  12. Okay I should have rephrased it then, we need an upfront newies venue with a smattering f decent oldies or an oldies hour like they used to have at the Casino. Otherwise, the scene's eventually going to disappear...we'll go nowhere just recycling the past

  14. Wouldn't it be great if there was one, central allnighter again, a focal point for the entire Northern scene a la Wigan, Stafford, obviously there's the 100 Club but that's only once a month, harder to make friendships etc when you only see people once a month. Obviously I realise that all us old b*stards won't attend, but a nighter attracting 500 people every week would surely have to be a good thing wouldn't it?
  15. Willie Hutch on RCA is French I think, or Spanish.
  16. have to say that this tape does sound slightly too fast in parts - Yvonne Vernee, Omni especially. Richard Anthony is the Detroit Wheels cover up that I couldn't remember the other day
  17. Because they send me emails and leave comments saying what they like and don't like, and people don't like music playing in empty halls - duh - plus they are 'subscribers' and people listening on here aren't...I do all this for nothing you know!
  18. AKA Pete Falls Over... Okay this is the last one for now, it's nice to be asked for these but my ears need a rest from the live tapes. This one I recorded back and to the right, looking at the stage, the recorder was on a table right on the edge of the dancefloor, if you listen to the climax of the second chorus of "I Wanna Know" you will actually hear me trip over my Adidas bag whilst doing a spin LOL. Sorry this one picks up quite a lot of talking, I can recognise at least 4 of them as if it were yesterday. DJ is Keith Minshull and it's a pretty atmospheric recording. JOHN E PAUL - I WANNA KNOW PRESENT - MANY'S THE SLIP JEWELS - WE GOT TOGETHERNESS GWEN OWENS - JUST SAY YOU'RE WANTED SHANE MARTIN - I NEED YOU FLORENCE DEVORE - KISS ME NOW MILTON WRIGHT - I BELONG TO YOU POOKIE HUDSON - THIS GETS TO ME RICHARD POPCORN WYLIE - ROSEMARY WHAT HAPPENED LOVELITES - GET IT OFF MY CONSCIENCE SERVICEMEN - SWEET MAGIC ADAMS APPLES - DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON THIS WORLD JEANETTE HARPER - PUT ME IN YOUR POCKET GARNET MIMMS - LOOKING FOR YOU YUM YUMS - GONNA BE A BIG THING REFLECTIONS - LIKE ADAM AND EVE APRIL STEVENS - WANTING YOU LAINIE HILL - TIME MARCHES ON JIMMY CLIFF - WATERFALL POINTER SISTERS - SEND HIM BACK https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/wigan-casino-21st-july-1977-keith-minshull-dj-spot/
  19. Yeah of course it's a valid reason, I just don't need to keep being reminded that I'm the only one who got an off centre copy
  20. Unknown Date 1980 Here's one for all the late period Wigan / Richard fans who kept badgering me to post this tape up, it's not the same tape as I mentioned on Soul Source but it is from probably the same month and is in way better quality. See how many of those cover up names you can make out, I've listed all of them uncovered except for Chris Bartley as I don't think the real artist was ever uncovered was it? The tape was labelled 1979 but it's definitely 1980. Thanks to the original taper whoever it was. 22. For everyone who moaned at me for not putting that other 1980 tape up, I just found another one, better than that, almost identical track listing, I'm recording it now and will post it in an hour or two, again it is labelled 1979 but it once again has Omni on and you all say that is a 1980 release so it's gotta be 1980...fantastic sound quality on this one.
  23. Same recording though isn't it, two different labels? Both very poor sound quality.
  24. Have any others got the same backing track as each other apart from Brad Lundy and Deena Johnson? It's a fantastic backing track.
