  1. That was the one I meant - not Baby Boy, but Daddy O. But whoever paid £100 for that, send him my way
  2. In the States it was classed as R & B though, which is what I was referring to. Hence their R & B charts.
  3. Thats another of my favourite records (Baby Boy) when you think of that rubbish thing on Northern De la that went for £1000 last week and you can still get this for £20 or so
  4. Chalky I can't go back through 5 pages of stuff to see if you had this one but just in case you haven't got it as a cover up, just saw this CASTLE'S ROYAL BAND - THE LITTLE FLORIDAY (Instr) // MISTY - CASTLE Guy H's old Herb Ward Orch. - "Theme From An Innocent Man" (Instr) c/u from Stafford
  5. Said it before and I'll say it again, The Young Folk - Lonely Girl - MarVLus (also UK President) oh my goodness what a record, always reminds me of the Admirations on Peaches and Paree, one of those records that people can't even be bothered to listen to because they have seen it in cheap boxes for the last 40 years but it is truly stupendous. Also released on the same label as Miss Madeline with a different B side. This is one of my favourite records ever.
  6. If you are going to take up these dance lessons you are going to be needing these, otherwise you just won't have the magic https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MENS-BROWN-NORTHERN-SOUL-BAGS-TROUSERS-32-WAIST-/380733272808?pt=UK_Records&hash=item58a578b2e8
  7. And at our disco - and all on Motown Chartbusters LP's I think. Spinning And Spinning was lovely.
  8. Well it is but it isn't. It was, but now it's not. If you see what I mean. When it was released in the 60's it was R&B, but nowadays it's Northern Soul. Because R&B in today's context doesn't mean what R&B meant in the 60's. And then you've got the other so called R&B, the contemporary stuff by today's artists which bears no resemblence to R&B. It sure is confusing.
  9. Well said. Me too.
  10. No worries, I only heard it for the first time 5 minutes before I bid on it anyway, you know when a name suddenly rings a bell for no reason, turns out you've subconsciously memorised it from a list
  11. this is silly, but do you ever have a record that you love so much that you can't believe it is so cheap? Yes, especially when I see other dealers and sellers asking double the price of what I ask - and getting it!
  12. Yes you do, it stands for Brunswick Record Company
  13. Someone outbid me on a UK one of these last week, there was me thinking no one else saw it
  14. I have a customer who is looking to sell some stuff, and perhaps people may know of someone who may be interested? Ion USB Turntable AX-500 Pro Amplifier Numark TT 1625 Decks (x2) Skytec Speakers 170.146 (x2) Stanton C.500 BB Blaster BB10 Sound Lab Mini mix G103QC And….. Encore Electric Guitar FAB Distortion cheers Pete pete.smith@freeuk.com
  15. Think it's hair below your waist but they definitely sing that, did you honestly not laugh about that in 1975, we did
  16. When I was referring to counterfeits Richard, I was thinking of UK releases, Beatles etc.
  17. It's only been out 10 years
  18. I'd have thought they were handed out to reps etc and had to have those stickers slapped on to stop the shops selling them. I don't think these sticker demos should ever be classed as proper demos when a red and white etc exists. Hundreds of fake ones on Ebay as well.
  19. Yeah I noticed 2 x Aussie demos have sold.
  20. Shoes must be removed as to not disturb neighbours below whilst practising.
  21. That's just a stamper reference I think, it's either that or a tax code, you used to find them on the centrepieces of EMI label releases.
  22. When I say a second press, I just mean a second run, after the first lot has sold out, though I wouldn't have thought this sold more than a thousand copies but I don't really know. It was never reissued as Solomon King so yours is the original, but it's unusual, I've had a dozen of these over the years and I think all were Say A Prayer.
