  1. No I like to feel unwelcome
  2. 80% also think I misunderstood the Levi Stubbs question
  3. Dunno but he will have to be obscenely rich
  4. Yes 1967 mate, Island is very early, 62 I think
  5. I was only mentioning it in the context of the topic and didn't really want it to turn into a finger pointing exercise. But the problem is that two people PM'd me asking if it was someone dj-ing currently and giving a name, and that's something I know nothing about, the incident I was talking about was like 13 years ago not today, and I feel lines are going to get blurred if I say anything else, especially when, as I say, I know nothing about who is playing what nowadays.
  6. Yes, still got that DVD Gene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDYemVrosbs
  7. Really tough record this, only ever had it twice, one was last year which I sold for £250 though going by how many people asked for it I could maybe have added £50 on top of that
  8. It was when I said why are you choosing all the usual local dj's to begin your new night at the Civic, and you said well you never go out anyway so I thought oh f*ck this, I'll go and mow the lawn
  9. I already said, it was me!
  10. I only just about remember KTF these days, but I think they started up again on facebook, I tried it but left after getting into a row with kev Roberts after being on there 10 minutes
  11. I've got some live footage of the Blues Busters, it's from a Reggae concert in the Bronx circa 1982, they are still dressed in matching suits doing a very dated act, it must be said. Nice, but a little out of place.
  12. I think thats why our generation appreciates music more, you did have to work hard to find it, your only information on anything that wasn't top 40 came from the music weeklies or the Peel show, there was no internet, MTV, only a handful of radio stations, and you saved up to buy an LP which you then sat and listened to all the way through as there was no skip button like on a cd player.
  13. Same with the people who had "Weak Spot", the rumour was that it was coming out on Private Stock, hence many Midlands emidiscs of this having Private Stock labels
  14. In any group of people there is always one who does that, exagerating, lying, always done that, been there...happened then and still happens today, why do they do it?
  15. Apparently happening right now too, so I hear.
  16. I'm talking about something like 12 years ago. OK I admit it, it was me, I lied about the "top DJ" bit.
  17. There doesn't seem to be any serious discussion groups on facebook though, they're all have a listen to this or look at this photo type things aren't they.
  18. I used to buy a lot of music magazines, Mojo, Record Collector, Uncut - but my eyes got too bad so I just stopped, and saved a ton of money too.
  19. Here comes the lynch mob...
  20. I know. Was just saying how good it was. Is Sister Europe for sale?
  21. Also when a top DJ sold up about 10 years ago, a lot of the originals were reissues or imports with high quality photocopies stuck on. Though I don't know if he ever claimed they were originals, they just looked like it. I got a nice pink Decca demo Lada Edmund Jr for £5. Underneath it was UK MCA.
  22. The track was LP only and I may be wrong but Phil did a label for a 7" version which was impossible to tell that it wasn't a real Capitol release
  23. Quick message to anyone who ordered these from me on saturday or yesterday: they have all been posted. First class. I knew I'd undercharged on postage Anyone who ordered today, they'll be posted tomorrow. cheers Pete
