  1. OK just one last shout for these then they're going away again, thanks to everyone who ordered, have to say I'm amazed how many people wanted them but I hope you all enjoyed them and five for a tenner can't be bad. cheers Pete
  2. Fat Larrys Band, Rimshots, Bo & Ruth, Brainstorm, even Car Wash was a massive record on import. Loved all of them. Am afraid I can't see much attraction in that Dr Buzzard track though, maybe you had to be at the Ritz..
  3. Probably don't care! How many dj's are there nowadays? 500 maybe? 350 of those won't care what label something's on as long as they get people dancing I suppose.
  4. I thought they were both bootlegs. Happy to be corrected.
  5. I don't know where that came from, that the green ones are all off centre, because they are definitely not - I've not had many, 3 copies, but none were offcentre, the labels were a bit askew but not the actual record.
  6. I think Disco has many meaning to different people. I used to love the music played at our disco so I called it disco music, this meant old Motown classics, Sex Machine, Band Of Gold type oldies, plus the latest release like the aformentioned Trammps and Hamilton Bohannon, stuff like that. But when it became a genre of it's own with horrors like Instant Replay and Born To Be Alive, thats where the lines start to blur - so if people ask "do you like disco", it's a very big no because it reminds me of 1978 to 80 when disco was the very antethisis of all we liked about soul music, especially Northrn Soul
  7. I remember having Bowie, Slade, Rod Stewart and T Rex in 72-73, I replaced those with the colour centre page of Black Music magazine in 74-75. Can't remember any after that really.
  8. MY hands are up. Honestly.
  9. I love that record.
  10. Brilliant stuff Chalky, thanks
  11. This was the original ad, he then put it up to £250! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NORTHERN-GLORIA-JONES-TAINTED-LOVE-CHAMPION-EAST-COAST-VINYL-PROMO-LISTEN-/321211074857?pt=UK_Records&hash=item4ac9ac0929
  12. It wasn't one of those with the stamped titles, it had the proper test press label on it.
  13. There's a red label bootleg on ebay now with someone trying to get £250 for it!
  14. Tainted Love I would have thought
  15. Only the matrix details will tell...everybody's got one of these
  16. I think I know who that is John. His name's Sid, he used to work for Selectavision in Wombourne, him and the owner of the shop, Graham, were Cats regulars (I didn't know this, but the shop was always full of soul records, I should have guessed really) and I remember in 76/77, asking Sid if he could get certain records and a day later he'd get them for me, remember him getting me an MGM issue of April Stevens distinctly, anyway when the shop closed down in 1980 I lost touch with the guys, I asked Max once if he knew whatever happened to them and he said he saw Graham more or less every week, but Sid moved to Scotland and sort of disappeared.
  17. Nice copy https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Billy-Guy-HERE-I-AM-Abc-Demo-/331044728196?pt=UK_Records&hash=item4d13cdad84
  18. One of my Mom's records that I used to play loads when a very very young kid (Pre school) along with Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Hound Dog and others which I consequently broke.
  19. I think it was, I think it was still an alt version though?
