  1. You know when you see a record all over the place and it's only a fiver or a tenner and you automatically think it's probably that cheap for a reason? I'm ashamed to say I do that a lot. I did it with this record which I'd had off and on for 20 years but NEVER EVEN PLAYED IT. I really was shocked when I did. A lovely little fingersnapper, and while not as good as a couple of his other's, it's still well worth a listen (Chubby Checker - You Better Believe It baby - not the Joe Tex song)
  2. It's a yellow demo isn't it Nancy? Or have I got that wrong as well
  3. Was it something about Reginald Molehusband? If so, you told it before I was posting I think * sorry hadn't seen your post above
  4. Yeah I've had that a few times, remember getting a Don Ray issue after I was told there wasn't one - and case in point, the Dean Courtney MGM issue of which I still haven't seen another copy..I think the Bev Ann is a DJ at that price
  5. Why are you called Reg, Reg?
  6. Cross between Louie Louie and Psycho. Great stuff.
  7. It's a rare issue but it had it's day a long while back, I think some of those prices are a little optimistic the way things are at the moment.
  8. I love it when Jazz goes silent
  9. Of these Paul or of the new lot I advertised elsewhere?
  10. Wouldn't think it was legit unless it was released by Ace Records
  11. Sorry I was thinking of the other version that was on the RCA Rarities CD
  12. Harry I am not sure it is a different take, I think they just edited down the long LP cut for the single. I may be wrong...
  13. That's because it never came out as a single Nancy...
  14. Quick story about this, a decade or so ago I had a mate who got me some fantastic records from the States, name was Chris, he was in this regular record (by then, CD) store in Florida with a box of 45's on the counter, they were all recent picture sleeve type things, except he said there were just two 60's records in the box - two demo copies of Jimmy McFarland. He said there were no other 60's records in the shop! What's all that about?
  15. Not as far as I know..still quite easy to find
  16. If it's got a moulded label then it can't be a carver by the way.
  17. I have a feeling that they released both versions of Love You Baby (Eddie Parker + female version), EP version had the instrumental on the B side, female version had your own track on the B side. These were on light blue "Ashford" labels.
  18. Was thinking about what you said there. I'd also look at "I Walked Away" and think - Zzzzzzzzzzzz But then I thought, if I heard that at a big allnighter and everyone was clapping, my God it would be utterly fantastic! And thats the trouble - we get bored of all these old records but when they're heard out, they take on a different dimension completely.
  19. There's no boot of this record, yours is fine. By the way this may have even gone to second pressing, Anglo American had literally hundreds of them in the early 90's, I must have bought 3 of them as they were only £10 each.
  20. When did that happen???
  21. No Jerry there's several more. Or at least one more. One really slow version.
  22. The Crazy Cajun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKZCk0df8k4#t=165
  23. It was an anniversary and it's the same as Keith Minshull playing Hey Girl Don't Bother Me at the Casino 7th anniversary really. And it's an utterly brilliant Motown record which if it hadn't been a hit, would have been a perfect Northern record. Mick and his mates also discovered a lot of the foundation tracks on the Northern scene like Quick Change Artist, Times A Wasting and Crazy Baby...can't wait to see his response
  24. The fact was way more interesting than the music and video
