  1. Hey Dave if that was you I apologise, I was nearly on the end of those telescopic legs many times, and I'm sure you could dance me into the ground
  2. Remember Scrub Board distinctly as one of the first "Northern" records I ever bought! It was on the B side of something, "Zing" maybe? So that was around for maybe a year and then someone found the vocal on the LP and it became so popular that they put it out as a single, and "Scrub Board" was forgotten.
  3. Get in there!!!
  4. Wonder why the put the count in off Bari Track on there. Belting inst that one though, never even heard of that before.
  5. No I mean I prefer the vocal of Rosemary, always did. Suzys Serenade, I once started a topic on that saying I'd never known anyone who actually liked it. I think it was called "the records that nobody likes"
  6. Pop song but a fantastic Northern instrumental
  7. I'm afraid I have to disagree with this Daz, it's a bastard to tell if you don't know, one of the ten hardest
  8. It does fit perfectly with that footage though, especially the lad in the baggies on the right. NIce track that, never heard it before, bit of a Just No Love riff going on
  9. No, don't think so, probably keep mine - there must have been at least 50 titles done by this particular bootlegger, all rare UK 60's, most of them really look the business but all have no centres. Some of them, well most of them really, are still easy to get hold of - others, like Herbie Goins, The In Betweens, and this one, are now getting harder to find. I'll ask Mick Smith if he's got one for you ok.
  10. I probably just don't understand the question and the way it works
  11. One here Kev, I've got one myself
  12. It's also on a CBS demo lookalike bootleg, no centre though.
  13. Listen to the drummer on this record, he is the same drummer who plays on Hanky Panky, Get It Baby, Sister Lee and countless others, he is also the drummer that plays on that acetate I had "The Tingle", that drumroll is his signature, I was told that this was Funk Brother Uriel Jones, can anyone confirm this? My favourite drummer!
  14. I have resurrected another batch of Northern Soul / Soul dvd's, they are £5 each but if you buy 5 they are only £2 each! I don't want to list the contents here in case it causes the moderators to have problems with copyright etc (on the last lot I included This England which had been released on official DVD which is why the advert disappeared) but as far as I know, nothing I am selling is copyrighted and out on official DVD, it's all rare collectors type stuff. Anyway if you are interested, PM me and I will send you a list, thanks Pete
  15. Those Mirwood instrumentals are utterly, utterly brilliant and in several cases it's very hard to say the vocal is better than the instrumental and vice versa, I'd add Cigarette Ashes and Don't Pretend to your three above.
  16. The thing with that though, unless you physically took it off the turntable and examined it, I don't think you'd be able to tell, because it's only the thickness of the vinyl that differenciates the original from the pressing. This has been played as a revival since the vocal was found at the start of the 2000's, it was originally played in 77 at the east coast venues but was reissued befopre it went massive everywhere
  17. p.s. notice they call it the Detroit Strings but there aren't any strings on the record should have called it The Detroit Brass
  18. That's an awesome instrumental. Hitsville Chalky on here went in the studio with Pat Lewis and put a vocal to this track 2 years or so ago.
  19. Bari Track. Lazy man's soul? Thinking man's Northern Soul.
  20. Me too (except Rosemary)
  21. Well as it said the word YOU I think most people would ascertain that it was aimed at ME, whatever you wrote in the next sentence. Anyway who cares...I do not like drinking at all nighters.
  22. I have been as quiet as a church mouse lately.
  23. Er, yes you did What about 50+ adults who go out & get absolutely bolloxed on alcohol.....spose thats perfectly alright & good for you ?.
  24. When have I ever advocated alcohol, I hate it at venues and think it's a very poor idea, get your facts right before shouting your mouth off Russ - as per usual
