  1. I'd buy a book just with 500 label scans in, because I like that sort of thing. Who can say whats good or bad about a book?
  2. Read it and find out for yourself. Because whatever I say, you'll say it's shit.
  3. Read it and find out for yourself. Because whatever I say, you'll say it's shit.
  4. Because it's a brilliant book to read maybe?
  5. What and they say it's not ripping it off? It's using a gigantic sample from it!
  6. p.s. you have to hear these 'Northern Soul remixes' to appreciate why people are commenting on them.
  7. Is this the record that sounds exactly the same as Got To Give It Up that they play on the radio at the moment?
  8. Why not? You haven't even heard them so toddle off until you have...
  9. Yeah there is a mention of it from a few weeks back.
  10. I saw your comment so I left one too. Hope more will..
  11. Anyone who had a dvd off me containing Swinging Time - sorry but all these are faulty, my fault - I owe you one.
  12. Just remembered, I did mine using only records I'd actually got at the time, whether on original or pressing, no cd tracks, no tapes, just vinyl, so there were probably a load I'd have liked to use but couldn't for that reason.
  13. I did it cos I thought it might make an interesting series of podcasts and get a bit of banter going
  14. Not such a daft question as they were forced to put Detroit in front of their name because of the Liverpool Spinners!
  15. Madeline Bell - I can't wait to see my babys face - UK Philips anyone got a copy for sale - will pay £25 ish
  16. This is just using one track of the stereo LP recording. Sacrilege.
  17. If you click on youtube logo bottom right of the video screen you can leave comments if you wish.
  18. As I said, it's all time which spans 50 years, and in that 50 years Dobie Gray has always been and will always be more popular than Eddie Parker, it doesn't just get points from nighter plays, but from soul nights, youth clubs, pub do's, radio play, anything to suggest popularity. If you take most of these records at face value and not by how many times you've ever heard them or if you're bored of them, this is some of the greatest music ever created on this planet, at least 200 of those are well worthy in their place of the best Northern 45's of all time. Plus - Kev Roberts stuck his head on the block here and published a list based on his experiences. How many of you lot have done it? (Not aimed at you Byrney). I've done it - I did a Top 100 and broadcast it.
  19. How the hell is that supposed to be a remix of Loves Gone Bad? Where's the 'dislike' button
  20. This thing about the synths. On When We're All Alone Tonight you can hear the first synthesiser after around 4 seconds! There is the original riff, and the synth echoes this in the background. On 52 seconds it comes back in again. Now this isn't one of those Gary Numan type synthesisers, it's the sort that can reproduce the sound of strings (fairlight?) so I'm going to throw in the fact that I think this record is even later than suspected, late 70's or even early 80's. If anyone wants a perfect quality full soundclip shout up and you can hear for yourselves.
  21. The problem with something like this is that people think there's only three or four copies whatever, but they have no idea really. I know a member on here who has one but they haven't mentioned it or shouted up, maybe because they don't want people to know, maybe they aren't bothered, but this thing about there only being X amount of copies will nearly always be proven wrong.
  22. A remix of Jackie Lee - Darkest Days, he's thumped the drums up high and then extended it by chopping up bits and pieces of it and pasting them on the end. A kind of Jive Bunny for 2013.
  23. Rubbish...
