Wow, amazing...just shows about sounds being known in one part of the country and unknown elsewhere
-
I distinctly remember having one in May 76. It had stuff like Salvadors, George Blackwell, all bootlegs being sold as originals. It also had the Boola Boola version of the Natural Four at a fiver, not mentioning it was a different version of course, man it was a hard record to sell back in those days.

More Norfolk Soul - East Anglian Stylee This Time
Pete S replied to Roburt's topic in All About the SOUL
The Moving Finger 45 on Mercury used to be easy to find in the 80's, I think I paid £3 for it and sold it for £5, nowadays it goes for considerably more and was even bootlegged / counterfeited on a Mercury lookalike. He could get a good sum of money for the acetates if he sold them. That is the first time I've seen a stock copy of the Anglians 45. -
I thought Tim A used to have it? Early 80's?
-
Kinnell this is getting some bumps. Oops there's another.
-
Yeah those Haunted House box sets were being sold off for like a tenner in one of the major chains, they had so many unsold copies, then they released the leftover singles separately, and fast forward five years, the boxes now get listed for £75 or so...
-
You're thinking of sommat else mate, maybe Bessie Banks...only came out on CBS in the UK (and Direction reissue)
-
The last box set I bought was a Trojan one, Lucky Sevens, I only wanted one of the singles so I took it, sold the rest separately and threw the box away
-
If people aren't going to open them, they may as well buy an empty box???
-
I think right at the start before the vocals come in there's a riff which sounds very vaguely similar to the start of You Don't Love Me.

It's called I Go Out Of My MInd.

Just the one THE UPSETTERS - MY MOB / NIGHT DOCTOR - JAMAICAN UPSETTER BLANK Condition VG+, apart from a little crackle at the start it plays EX throughout. Night Doctor slightly lesser, a little background crackle. Nice condition for this one. Writing on the labels. £30 + £2.50 post (UK 1st recorded)
-
No it was actually covered as - and you'll probably find this a bit hard to believe - The Epitome Of Sound. I only remembered this when I bought a load of stuff off Crispi and there was a 10" 4 track emidisc I got off Pep, and it was written on the label as "Into your arms" Epitome Of Sound.
-
No it was 75 mate, Biddu was 1975 as well.
-
For me, that one.
-
I can see it now, the grey thing. Daft place to put it
-
Yeah he must have, different browser maybe, it doesn't mention or show it in the title of the post (I'm using chrome)
-
They were really good records though! Still love "24 hours a day"
-
Er...I can't see anywhere where you said 12" Pete, thats why everyone's offering you the 7"
-
Good price? Why, have you seen one higher?
-
Yum Yums, couple of issues but still not a big money record in the scheme of things - 2K?
