  10. That advert was 7 years old Paul, sorry
  11. It was posted almost 7 years ago Paul sorry! 2007.
  12. Quite like the track and so did Sam because he says it was in Despicable Me 2 - love the old boy at the end of the video getting into the swing of things - the lady seems nice as well and dances fine but am becoming just a little fed up of seeing her...still nobodys forcing me to watch.
  13. I've never heard mention of that being played at the Casino. Like the rest of them, I never heard it until the 80's. Wasn't off the radar because I knew it came out on President, but thought it was a typical President cheapie.
  14. Yes the bottom end of the market is quite, however, I sell loads and loads of cheapies, especially on Discogs - different type of punter maybe? I can sell a blue Ric Tic for £4 on there...
  15. I will say no because I never heard it until it turned up on a Soul Supply LP in the 80's, but I only went to Wigan so it may have been played elsewhere at a different time.
  16. Those people asking in another topic about exclusive Russ Winstanley spins - this was one. He was the only one to play it (at Wigan anyway), only played it 3 or 4 times, then it was booted under it's cover up name. They were on sale for a very short period of time and were slightly more expensive than the usual boots. I didn't know it was The Servicemen until years after.
  17. I'll have to re-promote that one!
  18. Resurrecting a very old topic, I just picked one of these up and apart from the spoken intro, which is a little quiet, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the sound quality at all, and she might be from Nottingham but she does a good impersonation of an American. Thats not a sales pitch, just reporting what I hear!
  19. I had Jimmy Robins as a 100% Northern Soul record long before anyone was associating it with R & B. That came way later. Mel Torme must surely be classed as pop though, good record as it is.
  20. Just the sort of cheapie that's worth playing I reckon...
  21. Our old friend Mainly45's again
  22. I could count on one hand the people I know who collect other (soul) stuff apart from Northern. I can't stand deep soul or sweet soul personally. But thats just me
  23. Well no not really, because if you think about let's say before the internet revolution and the hundreds / thousands of returnees, there were not really that many DJ's, you only have to check out the old flyers and adverts, you'll see the same names all the time, and the small club scene aka soul nights were quite few and far between...so lets say there were only 100 dj's at the most, there was a good chance they'd all be able to pick up the in-demand tunes. fast forward to nowadays, almost everyone is a dj and now a thousand people are after the same records instead of a hundred. That's what I read it to mean when Chalky wrote it anyway.
  24. I realise why I wasn't getting it, I've never seen down to the bottom of the page, after I read the last post I just go back to the top
