  8. In 76, are you kidding? Best music anywhere, ever..
  9. With all the easy ways of finding out about records, what they are worth, how many copies there are etc, who on earth bids in online auctions and pays 10 times more for a record than if they'd bought it off here - and why?
  10. Might have been on the East Coast and at Blackpool but where it mattered it barely got a look in, only person I ever heard play it was John Manship doing a guest spot at Wolves Civic in 1976 and we all went - what, is that it?

  12. REGGAE ONE-OFFS I've been sorting out my iTunes library recently (over 2500 duplicates removed!) anyway I used the playlist feature to make me a playlist of Reggae tunes where the artist only has one recording in my library; this didn't quite work because it can't differentiate between "and" and "&" so you have quite a few multiple entries. Anyway I did end up with a pretty good compilation, it's mainly early Reggae 68 style, and there's lots of Studio One music on this one. The track "My Word Don Juan" of course doesn't really exist, I did it in 2005 by playing the vocal and instrumental versions on the decks at the same time, it worked really well but the recording is a bit too loud. Good chance to hear some rare 45's here though. CLANCY & VELMA - LET US BE LOVERS LLOYD GREENE - REGGAE A GO GO KANDYMAN - MOAMBESSA DUBPLATE BOB & TY - I DON'T MIND THE REGGAEITES - HARRIS WHEEL BAND OF MERCY & SALVATION - SUFFERING STINKS CLIFTON SMITH - I'M GONNA MAKE IT DOLLY MAN - TRIGGER HAPPY WINSTON JARRETT - JUST CAN'T SATISFY MR. MOST - REGGAE TRAIN THE SHOWBOYS - LONG TIME BEN BOW - MAMA LULU SOULFUL FLAMES - SOUL TRAIN PAT KELLY & THE LOVE PEOPLE - MY WORD DON JUAN LITTLE DARLIN - NO ONE E. LOWDEN & THE FUGITIVES - MY BUSINESS AL BARRY & THE CIMARONS - MORNING SUN JOE WHITE & HARRY J ALLSTARS - SKANK INDIGO BOBBY & VAL - CRACK ATTACK THE ORIGINATORS - RED HOT IRON THE HI TONES - KEY TO YOUR PARADISE TOMMY & BOBBY - TRIAL BY WAR YVONNE HARRISSON - TAKE MY HANDS JIM BROWN - SEE HIM DEH DENNIS LOVELOCK - IFICIALLY SCORCHER V. VINSTRICK & JJ ALLSTARS - LOVE IS NOT YOUR GAME COUNT BUSTY & THE RUDIES - THE REGGAE OWEN GRAY - EACH DAY I LOVE YOU MORE https://old.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/reggae-one-offs/
  13. do these 'reputable dealers' just copy everything JM says word for word or something?
  14. Vinyl - Detroit Styrene - West Coast not rocket science. Soulhawk the one in the picture you posted is spot on what you say, this is a 90's reissue done from the masters because the original bootleg was not great quality. The blue Detroit 60's one is so easy to tell apart from that one.
  15. I had the pale blue vinyl ARP stamped one off (Hitsville) Chalky who got it off Brad in Detroit and anyone who thinks this is less likely to be original than those styrene ones wants their head tested! I'm talking about the pale blue labels here - the white ones don't look quite right.
  16. I never went to any East Coast things at all so I have no idea, never went to Cleethorpes or St Ives, never went down South to Yate, had all I wanted at Wigan and couldn't stand the thought of missing a week!
  17. I'll see if I can come up with any audio evidence! What I was saying about Brand New Faces is that Alan only played it because of the connection to the Jimmy Burns record. Maybe it was Alan who played Jimmy Burns as well. Paul C will know.
  18. I doubt that very much!
  19. Must be more than that, I"ve had two, the white label hand written (different mix) ones
  20. I'd find it scary meeting some of the people on here face to face
  21. Tim I heard this at Wigan and I stopped going before Sam dj'd there, I think Richard might have played it because Alan Rhodes played Brand New Faces 100% sure of that.
  22. Have sent you a message sir
  23. Can't do it on an ipod, iphone and ipad and mac...
  24. Well it was on a LA Soul compilation....no address on the label though. Doubt very much if they are the same person for the reasons you state above.
  25. I don't have all these copies and I wrote the f*cking thing!
