  1. Nor me, reads perfectly here
  2. I also saw one of the first ones, it had been carpet rubbed and even had a fag burn on one side to make it look used and abused, took it to John Manship and we both agreed it was a recent press, though just by listening to it you could tell that. Having said that - if you heard it without it's history I think people would think it's an okay record and might play it.
  3. I've got hundreds and hundreds of these clips, I must have 5 dvd's full just from Shindig, and that doesn't include official reissues and rebroadcasts. At one time this stuff was the holy grail but nowadays, it's all out there on youtube. At one point, must be 6 years ago, I put over 300 rare artist clips on youtube and they removed the lot without warning, after that, I totally lost interest.
  4. I sell the vinyl one as original. I wouldn't sell it as original if I had any doubts about being a reissue. Because if it isn't original - where are all the 60's originals then?
  5. The Venecia Wilson record is fantastic. Apart from the fact it totally rips off another record.
  6. But thats a brilliant record!
  7. REDUCED ALL OF THE ABOVE EXCEPT THE ONE THAT WAS SOLD
  8. I know what you mean but compared to most of the records on this thread...
  9. Go for it mate, I'm sure you'll have bid more than I did anyway! ($25)
  10. I'll get the ball rolling on that for you
  11. DEON JACKSON - I CAN'T GO ON - CONTEMPO. This features a great unissued take of I Can't Go On, not on any other 45. Rarely turns up nowadays too. £30 SOLD
  12. Vocal
  13. pete.smith@freeuk.com 01902 326306 a few more THE GROOVE - LOVE (IT'S GETTING BETTER) - 20TH CENTURY DEMO. Superb midtempo dancer, old 100 Club tune, mint minus, £25. KELLY GARRETT - LOVE'S THE ONLY ANSWER - SMASH REISSUE. Was a very limited repress from the early 90's. Mint. £30 ERNESTINE EADY - THE CHANGE - SCEPTER DEMO. Okay please read carefully. This record looks sad. It's got label wear and towards the top of the label, some of the red colour has rubbed off. The vinyl, visually, is around GOOD. So it's one of those that's never been kept without a sleeve for 50 years. But play it, and you can barely hear a noise, plays really loud with barely any noise whatsoever. I'd seriously grade the play quality as VG++ to EX. So, a scruffy bugger which plays great. And what a fab tune! (Obviously if someone buys it and is not happy I will of course refund) £50 SOLD CLAUDIA GREEN - SKATE A WHILE BABY - ABC. Excellent Big City Soul dancer. EX+ still in company sleeve. £50 LARRY WILLIAMS - THIS OLD HEART (IS SO LONELY) / I'D RATHER FIGHT THAN SWITCH - OKEH DEMO. Brilliant record and this one is immaculate, mint and in Okeh company sleeve. Impossible to upgrade on this. Other side is a cracker too. £50 SOLD TEACHO & THE STUDENTS - CHILLS AND FEVER - OKEH DEMO. A terrific version of the Paul Kelly dancer, with a girl vocalist. Beautiful copy, EX+. £30 SOLD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWL4hu77b6c GERALD SIMS - COOL BREEZE - OKEH DEMO. Vinyl copy. VG++ but plays EX. Nice. £30 SOLD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMXh4L2rCVI ROOSEVELT GRIER - PIZZA PIE MAN - D TOWN. Now a pretty much forgotten biggie from the 80's, Stafford, 100 Club etc.. Sadly this one has a tiny crack right on the edge which you can hear for the first few seconds of the intro, after that, it's EX. So...£50. SOLD OK thats it for today... cheers Pete
  14. CARL DOUGLAS & THE BIG STAMPEDE - CRAZY FEELING - OKEH ISSUE. Rare on this stock copy, Mod dancer produced in the UK. Excellent condition £25 LINDA LYNDELL - WHAT A MAN - VOLT. Funky stuff, stock copy, Excellent condition, maybe EX minus visually but plays faultlessly. Drill hole in label.£25 FUNKY SISTERS - DO IT TO IT - AURORA. Original vinyl press, grey and white label with coloured logo. Presume it's a stock copy as doesn't say demo anywhere. Small drill hole in label. Torch, Mecca classic. Excellent condition. £50 EDDY JACOBS - WAS I SO WRONG - KISS KISS. 60's dancer. Excellent plus. £50. PATTI AUSTIN - SOMEONE'S GONNA CRY - CORAL DEMO. Brilliant Northern dancer. X on label in red like the one in the clip. Vinyl and label in lovely condition but does have a small storage warp which does not effect play. Because of this, bargain at £60. SOLD THE JEWELS - WE GOT TOGETHERNESS - MGM DEMO. Vinyl in Ex to M condition. Has name scratched in the run off groove. Some of my happiest memories of the 70's dancing to this record, wish I could do it now LOL £50 YVONNE VERNEE - IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME - SONBERT WHITE DEMO. Way lesser known than her classic on the label but good thumping Detroit soul. Near Mint. £60 RARE PLEASURE - LET ME DOWN EASY - CHERI. Ex+ condition. This is the 7" not the 12" in the clip below. Brilliant 70's dancer. £25 SOLD HAROLD BURRAGE - MASTER KEY - M PAC. Superb Chicago dancer circa 1964. Big voice, Stafford play. Excellent condition. £25 pete.smith@freeuk.com
  15. Yeah I'm surprised how many people don't know "Where does love go", I put it on a podcast a couple of years back and loads of people asked after it. Well three or four did. It is great though.
  16. Can't put this into words
  17. You think someone wouldn't be able to feel a passport in an lp sleeve?
  18. Please ignore, found one on Discogs at £75 I have this record but have never heard of it, found a copy on John's site, if I put this up for sale is that around the right price? https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/d/133454/BANKS,_SHELIA
  19. Post extra... ROBIN RICE - I'VE HAD IT - CRACKERJACK. Orange and black issue, great copy in Excellent condition. £50 £40 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEF4h_pSdvg THE SWEETHEARTS - NO MORE TEARS - KENT DEMO. A real Supremes soundalike, brilliant girl group dancer. Rare one too. Excellent condition. £100 £75 THE RAYONS - YOU CONFUSE ME BABY - FORTE. John Manship has this on his site as a male vocal group, but I think it's actually a girl singer! Two good sides though, one fast, the other midtempo. £75 £60 THE LOVETTES - LITTLE MISS SOUL - CARNIVAL. This was bootlegged on a rubbish quality WD, this is an authentic stock copy in fabulous EX+ condition. Proper Northern. £40. SOLD

Has wear on the raised part of the label. This is of course Sandi Sheldon. Midtempo stunner. £30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9oPOuDBAno SUNDAY - AIN'T GOT NO PROBLEMS - ALTEEN. Like most copies you find, this one is used, vinyl is VG plays VG++ with background pops here and there. Ring wear on label and small name wol. Would play out perfectly. The slower B side is in poor condition, so am selling this around half price or less. £25. SOLD A.C. REED - MY BABY'S BEEN CHEATING - KOOL. Fabulous copy in Excellent condition. £60.
