  1. The owner shouldn't have to pay the sellers vat for him though, if he sells it for £1000 the owner gets £800.
  2. I honestly thought he was white, I might be thinking of someone else, did a load of singles on Diamond Records, some pretty good beat ballads.
  3. Neil are these coming out as regular issues in the next few weeks?
  4. Betty Boo Suspicion Melba Moore - Magic Touch one that Penny mentioned, Hattie Littles, the original mix not the one that was issued on Motown cd Who Are You trying To Fool blimey there's so many
  5. I see. Yes I guess so, it's ok. I thought you meant we should all go out and dance to it, apologies for misinterpreting. You'd be surprised what I listen to to be honest...though to be fair, it doesn't include a lot of soul music. Lot of Northern maybe.
  6. Will do

  8. Pile of sh*te Why would anyone into Northern want to hear stuff 'similar' to this played?
  9. JOHNNY THUNDER - I'M ALIVE / VERBAL EXPRESSIONS OF TV - CALLA 161 NEAR MINT £40. I nicked this description from an Ebay sale as I'd never set eyes on it until I found it 2 minutes ago. JOHNNY THUNDER A: I'm Alive B: Verbal Expressions Of T.V. [CALLA 161, US] Listen to this below if you don't know it! When it all comes down to it, this is the ULTIMATE and only version of "I'm Alive" that matters. All other versions (Don Fardon, The Clique, Tommy James, Blue Swede, Claude Francois, E.R. & The Rough Riders etc.) are weak, wimpy and pale into insignificance when compared to this version. Johnny Thunder screams his head off over a fuzz-drenched punchy backing track. Truly essential stuff that always fills the dancefloor. Equally good flipside as well. Don't miss out! In absolutely jawdropping M- condition. Vinyl condition: M-
  10. Just listed around 50 original Atlantic label 45's, most USA, some UK, 99% are 60's, most pretty common but a few obscure ones and a couple of rare ones in there - all are, of course, bargains :-) https://www.discogs.com/seller/pete.smith
  11. I had One Minute Every Hour come on during a random itunes session recently and it sounded fantastic, someone went out of there way to get a real 60's sound on that one. Happy youth club memories.
  12. Not true mate, I Didn't Know How To was a Stafford tune and most people heard it via one of the Northern Soul Story LP's back in 1988, it was always more sought after to start with. Then the other one overtook it.

  14. I'll plead the fifth
  15. I'd have thought everyone who wanted it would have already got it, it's been big for 15 years, amazed he got more than £300 for it - plus their other one is miles better
  16. Nowhere near as good and sounds half finished, rarity over quality again.
  17. I think thats the only USA Jay Boy release
  18. Can't find a clip of this anywhere but it's a great uptempo dancer from '68: LITTLE JIMMY BALLARD - LOVE IN THE FIRST DEGREE - ABC DEMO. EX £25. cheers Pete
  19. What! It's even got it's centre knocked out. I'd pay £5 tops for that. In fact I wouldn't touch it with no centre. I sell it regularly for £15. Maybe someone heard me play it on the radio or on my podcast on sunday / monday and it's gone mental
  20. If you get a minute could you check out my Discogs site, I've added over 100 UK label soul 45's, Northern, Modern, Sweet Soul, most from the 70's though some 60's originals. I'll be adding USA originals of a similar type this afternoon and for the next few days so it may be worth checking back. Thanks for reading. https://www.discogs.com/seller/pete.smith?genre=Funk+%2F+Soul
  21. Dave that's not quite correct, I've had a few early 60's Decca's with solid centres, at first glance I thought they were from Hong Kong or somewhere like that but they were definite UK pressings - possibly for overseas market, but to all intents and purposes, they were the same as the push out centre ones. I think one was by Karl Denver! * nb also had solid centre demos - I had John E Paul as a solid centre demo
  22. Paul, bits of it sound like Man Oh Man by Walter & The Admerations/Admirations
  23. Well this is what happens in the real world, I tried for weeks to sell an issue of Life and took £75 in the end.
  24. It does, though you could have used a better example like Heartache Avenue LOL but the difference is, that was produced commercially in quantities of thousands and got in the charts, Four Vandals ORIGINALLY was known by 2 or 3 copies hence it being included on the NS scene due to it's "rarity"
