  1. Yes he did. But his product is superb. I think most people know Wigan Bob wasn't being serious though.
  2. Pye records - really famous UK label of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Released some crap, released some great stuff. Over the next few days, I have to - well I don't have to - I am about to go through 35 cd's full of Pye singles, in order, from 1954 onwards. And they only go up to the end of 1965 so I am "eagerly awaiting" the remaining volumes up to 1970. Wish me luck and I will save all the good stuff and turn it into podcasts or whatever. p.s. Following this I have 29 volumes of UK HMV to do.
  3. On the version thats on the Philly CD, it takes about 90 seconds to fade out and has a second instrumental break!
  4. I knew it!
  5. As far as publicity goes, I don't think they could have done any better than getting it onto the BBC festival, good work. (Sorry this is off topic but it's about film extras. My friend Andy was an extra in one of the later Star Wars movies. He was on set for 2 days and played a stormtrooper. He was uncredited in the film. But on one of these Star Wars nerd sites, they have him down as appearing in it, and apparently a photo of him as well. How did they get that?)
  6. Yeah I was counting those as 2 versions :-)
  7. Thats what I was thinking. Theres about 4 versions already I think.
  8. The book of the film - Northern Soul
  9. I remember reviewing that record must be 15/20 years ago and I reviewed it as a Girl group record! Until now I thought it was a girl group. In fact, I just listened to it again, and I still think it is
  10. I'm really looking forward to it as well, I hope it doesn't overemphasise the drugs like the book did though.
  11. I think you're being a lot politer than I would have been. It's not yours or anyone else's fault that some members on here know people involved with the film. The majority don't, and are fully entitled to ask anything they want, thats what the forum's about.

  21. One of the best ever, better than the vocal I think.
  22. Bari comes from Baritone Sax. I did ask about Bok To Back years ago and someone answered, I'll see if I can find the thread.
  23. I have an auntie in Indiana (South Bend) should I get her to advertise for records?
  24. MR is on anything pressed at Monarch, throughout the 60's and 70's, all it does it tells you where the record was made. If it's accompanied by a 5 or 6 figure number after a triangle, that tells you the year it was made also.
  25. Yeah thats a great track. Supposedly recorded 'live at Bridget Bardot's birthday party'. Seriously.
