  1. I used to utter it every time I saw Mick Horton
  2. Nice man, Ian.
  3. TEN WEEKS??? From a seller on here? And then it's faulty....utter disgrace.
  4. Sounds ok, I'll sign up for it
  5. I'm not going to dismiss it out of sight without listening to it though, and I did listen to it, and it's just not very good. IN MY OPINION . If everyone else likes it - great.
  6. Half of them are tough, half of them are easy. I was selling a collection of them for someone a couple of years back and it was really hard work. I split them up in the end as there were no takers for the lot.
  7. I'd hate to hear the worst if that's the best
  8. It was a bit of both, but then someone bootlegged the reissue!
  9. I would have thought that the second seller would have had the grace to wait until the auction from the first seller is over before posting up another copy. Poor manners.
  10. Moses Smith you mean
  11. Not if not from the same seller I wouldn't have thought
  12. I can't remember having a right way round one. Watch out for the rare boot of the orange label though.
  13. Frame this one!
  14. It'll be quite good when it's finished..
  15. Amen to that!
  16. Dancing competition or acrobatic competition?
  17. Seen it before but still one of the funniest things ever

    Billy Davis

Was a £5 record - then it wasn't - but it soon will be again
  19. I also bought Sugar Sugar but they were always sold out when I went for it, crushing disappointment, I think when I finally got it it was number 2. Before that I bought Honky Tonk Women by the Rolling Stones and Dancing In The Street by Martha & The Vandellas so I had credibility at the age of 9, it was only blown when I bought Ernie 2 years later.
  20. PETE SMITH 01902 326306 pete.smith@freeuk.com As promised, a small but very nice list of rare UK 45's. I won't use the Mint grade unless I know something is unplayed but rest assured, these EX's and EX+'s are amongst the finest British 45's I've ever had. Sorry, no offers on these I'm afraid. Drop us a line if interested in anything. JACKIE ROSS - SELFISH ONE - PYE INTERNATIONAL 25259 EX+ 50 Immaculate copy MR. DYNAMITE - SH'MON - SUE 4027 M- 400 SOLD Incredible copy, still in Sue bag. Second rarest Sue I reckon. A BAND OF ANGELS - INVITATION - PICCADILLY 35292 DEMO EX+ 80 Small stamp across the centre otherwise pristine THE ROYALETTES - NEVER AGAIN - MGM 1292 DEMO M- 25 No centre but mint / unplayed by the looks of it MAXINE BROWN - ONE STEP AT A TIME - PYE INTERNATIONAL 25317 DEMO EX+ 50 One small non-sounding mark on the edge otherwise mint. Lovely B side too - Anything For A Laugh. GENE McDANIELS - WALK WITH A WINNER - LIBERTY 55805 EX+ 75 No centre but stunning copy BARBARA LYNN - YOU LEFT THE WATER RUNNING - LONDON 10094 TEST PRESSING / DEMO EX+ 75 SOLD Typed details on side A, handwritten on side B, very early demo, possibly unique LARRY WILLIAMS & JOHNNY WATSON - A QUITTER NEVER WINS - COLUMBIA 8140 EX 50 SOLD Has a few light hairlines, none of which affect play, rare solid centre Soul Supply Series release JACKIE EDWARDS - I FEEL SO BAD - ISLAND 3006 M- 375 SOLD I've had a few of these in my time but never seen as good a copy as this - only reason it's not graded mint is because it has a small stamp on the centre. I doubt this has been played more than twice in it's life. JACKIE ROSS - JERK AND TWINE - CHESS 8003 EX 40 Rare UK issue on the old gold and black Chess label - check out the B side "New Lover" - it has the same backing track as "Selfish One"! Has a very hard to see name written on the centre. BETTYE SWANN - MAKE ME YOURS - CBS 2942 DEMO EX- 100 SOLD A little crackle right on the first couple notes but then plays 100% perfectly after that. A few light hairline marks. Name written on the label. All of these records are play graded, so you can be confident that they will sound as good as I grade them. BOBBY PARKER - IT'S HARD BUT IT'S FAIR - BLUE HORIZON 3151 EX+ 30 SOLD Under the radar Mod dancer, recorded in the UK - stock copy too - small sticker residue mark on label PAUL KELLY - CHILLS AND FEVER - ATLANTIC 4053 M- 40 SOLD Beautiful black Atlantic original of this Mod / Wheel classic - best I've ever seen MARVIN GAYE & KIM WESTON - WHAT GOOD AM I WITHOUT YOU - STATESIDE 363 DEMO EX+ 80 SOLD Again, a barely played beauty. You'd never need to upgrade this. CHRIS CLARK - LOVE'S GONE BAD - TAMLA MOTOWN 591 DEMO M- 175 SOLD An immaculate green and white demo of a great double sider - Put Yourself In My Place is on the B side POSTAGE UK RECORDED £2.50 REGISTERED £7 OVERSEAS REGISTERED £9.50 EUROPE £10 ELSEWHERE PAYPAL, CARD, WHATEVER YOU LIKE WELCOME
  21. I don't think the first one was in the Motown disco classics series, also I think it was earlier than 1972, the sleeve notes on the reverse are brilliant and mention people travelling miles just to hear Earl van Dyke's "6 by 6", the top record in the country.
  22. No every time we settled on one, say Mel Britt, and the general consensus was that nobody disliked it, some one did say they never liked it. I'm sure we ended up with Please Let me In. The topic has got to still be here in the archives somewhere. You only have to read that topic "Whats your most hated Northern record" to see that some things we regard as sacred are just hated by others. I was sent threats for saying I didn't like Bobby Kline
  23. My Grace sang The Laughing Gnome in the car yesterday. Where am I going wrong?
