  1. Yeah I'd say so, the Ben E King seems to be a fluke pressing mix up, at least the BH got into the shops - well one shop anyway
  2. I have one of the B side same both sides here: nothing in the run off at all except a few dimples and a scratched in 117 A and 117 B on the other side. So marked as A and B sides but both play the wrong side. Shall I put a photo up? The label's different too.
  3. At least we know how to use capital letters
  4. Queen Of The World is on Big Shot. It's a version of The Worm. King Of The Worm is on Camel.
  5. Here's some info / theories The Promo Stickered record is usually when a record company has run out of the promo labelled records and starts sending out stickered stock copies for promo use. Its always an argument as to whether they are proper promo copies, - yes, anyone can put a sticker on a label, but most of the time you can tell whether the sticker is a new one that has been added at a later date than when it was meant to be... They were sold to EMI workers who were able to buy them at a discounted price. To deter them from buying at this lower price and then selling them on for the full RRP, the 'Factory Sample' sticker was glued on. why use a factory sample sticker ? demo ? no because EMI made demo's for demonstration purposes to be sold to staff ? then why not a staff copy not for re-sale sticker ? to me the only logical explanation is quality control pull one copy out in every 1,000 or whatever play it to make sure stampers are still good once it's been played it's second hand so therefore probably sold to staff at discount to me that don't make it any more desirable than a copy without a sticker like i said just my opinion we can put a man on the moon, split the atom even read genetic code but no one knows for certain what these stickers are for ! ! !
  6. It's not the music, it's the trousers
  7. No I've never had one - I've had one in my hands - to compare it to the vocal - you have to play them otherwise it's just a couple of millimetres difference in the run off groove.
  8. I sold a near mint copy of The Marvelettes on here LAST WEEK for £125

  10. Two variations of the silver one.
  11. No I don't think you get what I mean, people have filters set so as to what forums they see, e.g. I don't see anything to do with venue reports, so if they don't know there is an auction section, they wouldn't tick it and therefore wouldn't see it. Anyway in the case of this record, I don't need to bump it, when was the last time one was offered for sale on here?
  12. The box I got off you was splendid - but the music choice, nah, a few good ones but it was full of duffers!
  13. I'd take country and western over jazz any day - I used to think the same about country until I listened to some really old stuff. Can't dance to it though...
  14. Jeez, this, that Skatalites thing and that crap Jimmy Thomas record on blue Spark, I sell those things for a fiver each. Or rather, I did...if I didn't sell my copy to Mark, I might still have this in the garage, if I have I promise you it won't be very expensive.
  15. Is "auctions" another of those dead parts of the forum which nobody ever reads, like Audio / Visual? That's why I put it in sales. It is for sale.
  16. This is the Oz CBS discography that I did
  17. I am actually probably thinking of The Superiors mate. Que Sera Sera is the same group.

  19. Somewhere, on this site, is a listing of all soul 45's released on Australian CBS that I did...one or two real interesting issues that never came out in the UK, I'll see if I can find it
  20. Sounds like a Richard Domar pack, he had stacks of Chicago labels, most were 'oily' on the vinyl if I remember correctly. Paul Rudzitis used to do packs as well, late 80's. I only really talk about the 70's though when I'm reminiscing about soul packs.
  21. I'd rate that as the hardest of all UK's.
  22. Ah I can counter with a reason to split a box set: I sold my original Blue Cat 45 of Lynn Tait "Way Of Life" for £150 and had no hope of getting another. Then Trojan reissued it as part of their Lucky Sevens box set. This meant I could get it for £50. I didn't want any of the other 45's so I kept the Lynn Taitt and sold the others separately for £15 each. Maybe some people bought the Motown box for one disc... I'd just sell the box set and hope I get what I paid for it I think
