  1. I see! Used to be lots of do's in Eastbourne though :-)
  2. That Betty Lavette is torturing me
  3. In that case I"m going to start a campagne to get me to read all threads
  4. I'm going to start a campaign to teach you how to spell campaign
  5. First Choice doesn't actually exist on a Pye Int demo, it's a Pye acetate. I remember Mick showing it me along with another Pye acetate of a Disco Demand tune that never actually came out, can't remember what it was now but I definitely sold it to him. He also says he still has a Ben E King - Can't break the news Atlantic test press. Both sides yellow labels. One side has the title typed on (Goodnight My Love) the other is blank. Says he has had 4 copies and they have all been like that.
  6. Jimmy Robins - I can't please you
  7. Am happy to do so, I hope you enjoy yours too. In peace. Pete
  8. No but what I meant before Ian, if it's say an unissued 2 copy only Pye Disco Demand test press of say Stemmons Express, it's not going to make the juices flow as if it were a 2 copy only 1966 Pye International test press...just because it's from the 70's. And as for not saying what is is..really..Alan Klein's dead now you know
  9. No but what's the quote about not being able to see the future unless you know the past...or something like that. And whatever age you are, there are just some records that you have to have as an essential part of a DJ's toolkit, in case of emergency break glass and play "Cause You're Mine" sort of thing.
  10. What do you mean, pushed him to that point? original post: I do. It was a totally different world back then. Can you imagine being threatened to be beaten up for wearing a soul patch to a venue you'd never been to? I was. You could not just walk in and think you were the dogs nads, you had to do your time. If that's not the case now, and it obviously isn't, then that's great for you, but don't disrespect people like Chalky coming on here trying to explain what it was like back then, it won't do you any favours. Young flash gits with money will never get any respect from me. Nev you've become so predictable you're like some weird stalker-cum-troll, you can guarantee if I make a post, 90% of the time you'll be there with a negative or mocking comment, and noticeably not just on my posts either...except it's usually at night.
  11. Didn't say it was, but his original post was quite disrespectful to anyone older not in his clique, as is this one. We obviously see things differently. But I have to go to Aldi now.
  12. Neil did that the other day with Tommy Neal, I did tell him :-)
  13. Sorry if it sounded out of order, what I meant was that the majority of people who go out on a friday or saturday night wouldn't know most of those records, simple as that - if we say 90% of all venues are oldies / handbag, it'd go down like the proverbial lead balloon.
  14. So did your Mommy know you'd been to a club or did you sneak out? I haven't got any badges, but I did have some, from the places I visited, places you can only dream about. It'll take you 30 years to catch up with the knowledge and experience most people on here have so enjoy the ride, but nobody really gives two sh*ts whether "young people" dj or not.
  15. Mick wrote his own credits on his first one though so was probably blank both sides, I've got a scan of it somewhere.
  16. "Milk Man" what you actually said was below. I am cut to the quick, I really am. the milk man edit So glad that I don't know you and I get to reply to your pathetic outburst. Whilst you've been sat in front of your computer with your badges I've been out at a club listening to some fantastic tunes mocking the fact that people like you exist. I wasn't disrespecting anyone at all, I was just stating that people who are new to this scene should have the choice of the history of it rather than having it forced down their throat. You may love reliving your youth, but the people who I was referring to are living for the preset and loving it for what it actually is. Which ultimately means people couldn't give two thoughts to what badge you were or weren't wearing. As for being a flash git, don't have a clue what you're on about, I don't wear vest and baggies if that's what you mean. Enjoy getting off on your nostalgia mate
  17. No, there's no US 45 of it
  18. How do you work that out, you mean the London one? Otherwise, I'd be happy with a £3 Million Seller reissue it's such a great record
  19. That's a weird one then, wonder why would they put a white label on? Mick's was definitely yellow both sides though.
  20. Yes it is. I was never aware of a bootleg of this until John Manship said there was one. I distinctly remember buying it from Pep's shop for £3 as an original, he had quantity, as did all the dealers, supplied from one find of old stock. It killed the record dead after only a few weeks. I can't remember 100% but I think the ones being sold were the ones with no address. At that time, originals were always being found in quantity, John Bowie on Merben was another £3 sound available in huge quantities, Nate Evans on DPR, Ringleaders Baby What Has happened - I often used to get people selling me collections in the 2000's with one of these in which they had down as pressings because they were sold so cheaply.
  21. I love both of them. And with the Darrell banks you get the best double sider ever. That Buddy Smith is awful though. And yes, I know I'm the only one on here who doesn't like it.
  22. Came out on London demo but was not released as Stateside had the UK license, so came out on Stateside red and white demo, and black issue - London issue never came out - was reissued in 69 or 70 on Stateside and came on a green and white demo, black issue. I think it was still being manufactured in the 70's as an issue, so at least three Stateside presses.
  23. There's another version of this without that dip in the middle
  24. 12mm and 11mm respectively
