    Djing

You don't need any techincal skills whatsoever to be a "Northern Soul" dj, you just have to learn how to cue in a record. The skill is putting together the right set, in the right order, for the right audience. That's it. You could DJ off an old Dansette, it wouldn't make any difference.
  2. And the best one
  3. And here...
  4. Enjoy...
  5. That guy The Count?
  6. If it were me, I'd report him to Ebay and tell him to shove the record, who wants to deal with someone like that?
  7. Blue Beat was the generic term for ska, rocksteady and reggae as late as 1969 when it all started to become called Reggae, one of the music mags had a regular Blue Beat column.
  8. Those albums contained 45's popular over a two year period so they both include Ska and Rocksteady.
  9. I never collected them so don't know really, one Oriole demo I had but have never been able to place is Jackie Trent - The One Who Really Loves You, really good Motown cover
  10. But you're buying in bulk so that would be way over the top. Not worth more than £1000 in my opinion.
  11. Thanks very much Steve. Just what I always wanted to see - masses of record labels in one place!
  12. It is indeed Steve Jeffries on rarenorthernsoul.com
  13. "Rare acetate" the High Keys b/w The Poppies yep, must be worth all of £5 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ACETATE-HIGH-KEYS-LIVIN-A-LIE-POPPIES-THERES-A-PAIN-IN-MY-HEART-1965-6-/141256797493?pt=UK_Records&hash=item20e38fad35
  14. Nah it's a great record - if you remove the Northern connotations - I love 60's tv themes
  15. General consensus was it ruined it!
  16. Greetings Record Collectors, just thought you might enjoy maybe browsing my blog site to have a look at some of the rarest / most interesting UK releases from the 60's. The only rule is that they have to have been in my possession, no copying off other websites. There are a five hundred scans of rare records and I have just added the following: BETTYE SWANN - CBS DEMO LITTLE RICHARD - COLUMBIA DEMO PHIL PRATT - CALTONE THE HIPPY BOYS - TROJAN EARL VAN DYKE - REDIFFUSION ACETATE EBONY KEYES - PICCADILLY MARVIN GAYE - ORIOLE DEMO BIG JOE - DIP RIGHTEOUS FLAMES - FAB THE MINSTRELS - STUDIO ONE CHRIS CLARK - TAMLA MOTOWN DEMO THE BLUES BUSTERS - DOCTOR BIRD A BAND OF ANGELS - PICCADILLY DEMO BARBARA LYNN - LONDON TEST PRESS JACKIE EDWARDS - IDLAND DYNAMITE ORCHESTRA - SUE and breaking with tradition, the first two USA records I've ever put on the site, DEL LARKS and THE SALVADORS. Find it all at LOST VINYL WORLD OF THE 60's https://lostvinylgemsofthe60s.blogspot.co.uk/
  17. Check the matrixes again if you get chance Dennis, I thought they were the same?
  18. Had loads like that. Sold a Linda Glass recently with a very long dedication from her to her neice I think it was. Had a Holly St James where she had dedicated the sleeve, was to her sister I think. And a Pye UK issue of "Joe 90 Theme" signed and dedicated by the great Barry Gray.
  19. That looks like it was a white demo, been coloured yellow LOL - also that is a West Coast pressing and he wants Chicago press
  20. That Fork In The Road Ember stock copy is ten times rarer than Timi Yuro as well - yet I only got £400 for it - it's so off the radar hardly anyone knows of it.
  21. Think it might be blue plastic label or early 70's blue/white shaded
  22. Actually I don't agree with this, I had both in my hands and although it only lasts a minute and a half, there is no massive run out groove.
  23. What about the UK Liberty LP?
