  1. Am upgrading my Mac to a 27" so I have decided to sell my 21", it was bought in late 2010 and not used until well into 2011, it's still in perfect condition and works as good as new. Comes with it's wireless keyboard and mouse. Technical spec is below. I can wipe it totally clean or if you want to, I can leave my entire itunes library on there if you wish, there's 43,000 tracks in it including every Kent release, every Trojan release etc. Also has around £1000 worth of software on there including Microsoft Office. Please drop me a line if interested or if you need to know anything. (I also still have the box that it came in) pete.smith@freeuk.com 01902 326306 Asking £500 no offers. 2. You can't take Discogs as gospel, whoever entered the record on Discogs supplied the information and that could be anyone and they could say anything.
  3. No but I can sell you an orange original

Why do people always want to try to fix something that's not broken? You have to dj like this or the scene can't evolve. You have to play records that sound like this otherwise you're stuck in a time warp. Just go away and leave us to it.
  5. How can a second issue be an original? This is all crazy talk. Back then they were called 'pressings' - today, they're still pressings. Just because they're "legal reissues" doesn't make them originals, the original came out in 1965 not 1975.
  6. Sorry probably didn't see it - didn't include every cover version.
  7. Yes cos when you think about it, it was issued on Destiny on 79 and was still being played so I'd guess the boot is late 78. I don't think it's on any of my Wigan tapes at all, I stopped taping August 78.
  8. Was a 78 reissue I think (boot, whatever). Never went that massive really, got played a lot but didn't have a huge following. Never been a fan myself...it's alright.
  9. It is, that was a one off I did, it was actually going to be the sleeve notes to a CD I compiled but I ended up writing 24 pages or something like that. They were made to order and I can't have done more than 20 copies of that because I charged for the cd and not the magazine. And I was right, I don't have a copy of it!
  10. Really? I probably haven't got it, whatever it is!
  11. I read carefully but couldn't find the reggae ones :-)
  12. This is a link to a blog site, it's mainly Rock stuff, on the left hand side half way down are links to loads of Australian sites including many discographies and histories etc https://rockonvinyl.blogspot.co.uk/
  13. It's related but from Don Davis I think mate, Groovesville. Was credited to Barbara Mercer after Diana Ross.
  14. Track list - date of release - proper release or promo only etc
  15. Need a bit more info!
  16. It's not Diana Ross though...
  17. SKA FEVER LIVE 45 MIX The title is a little misleading as there is a mix of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae on this mix, but it refers to the blazing Ska section in the middle of the set. This is another one I did live from 45's and I apologise in advance for the sound quality on a couple, especially The Uniques, it wasn't until I'd already started playing it that I realised it sounded like bacon sizzling. The mix officially ends with Yama Way but it does continue in a similar style. (For some reason I've had problems with sound interference on this when converting it so if it doesn't sound right, I'll delete it from Mixcloud) THE GRADUATES - WAY OF LIFE THE KINGSTONIANS - YOU DON'T REMEMBER ME DENNIS ALCAPONE - THE CONQUERER BIG WILLIE - COLLEGE ROCK AUSTIN FAITHFULL & THE HIPPIES - AIN'T THAT PECULIAR THE GAYLADS - IF YOU KNEW BORIS GARDINER - BOBBY SOCKS TO STOCKINGS I ROY & KEN PARKER - GREAT, GREAT, GREAT HOPETON LEWIS - COOL COLLIE THE MELODIANS - COME BACK GIRL LEE PERRY - YOU CRUMMY SLIM SMITH - NEVER LET GO THE UNIQUES - OUT OF LOVE THE UPSETTERS - MY MOB THE SKATALITES - DOCTOR RING DING SLIM SMITH & PRINCE BUSTER - THE PROPHET THE ZODIACS - RENEGADE THE SKATALITES - CLEOPATRA THE SKATALITES - MISS SKA CULATION THE SKATALITES - RUSSIAN SKA FEVER BUSTERS ALL STARS - JET 707 CARL BRYAN - COOL HAND LUKE AUSTIN FAITHFULL - I AM LOSING YOU THE CRYSTALITES - SLIPPERY THE KINGSTONIANS - PUT DOWN YOUR FIRE MILLICENT PATSY TODD - GIVE ME A CHANCE SIR SCORCHER & THE BLACK EMERALDS - RECORD BREAKER ALTON ELLIS - I'M JUST A GUY TOMMY McCOOK - BUTTERCUP THE WAILERS - HYPOCRITES THE GAYLADS - LOOKING FOR A GIRL MARCIA GRIFFITHS - MARK MY WORD SHORTY - YAMA WAY & SOME BONUS TRACKS https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/ska-fever-live-45-mix/
  18. Whoever bought my UK Columbia Jane Hillery "You've got that hold on me" has a perfect set of my first daughter Jessica's teethprints from when she was 1 year old (1990) I opened it, left it on the table, next thing I know she's crawling around with it in her mouth
  19. It would have been if you'd bought it off me last year, I sold the issue and the demo for £75 each. Or less. Issue is ten times rarer than the demo. I've had two issues and five demos. Was it a good buy? I'm sure the buyer is happy. that was the second issue I sold, first one was £60, can't find the list with the demo on
  20. There was no label in England called Parrot. Parrot was a USA label which licensed in stuff from UK Decca and Deram.

That's what I thought but it started to grate a bit, I used: Shorty - Yama way Joe White - President rock Tommy McCook - The new president (aka halfway tree pressure) Shorty - President mash up the resident The straight instrumental version Heptones - Give me the right Uniques - Conversation I think those are all the ones I have on singles, coming next, 20 versions of You Don't Care rhythm. Sorry to take this off topic-ish
  22. I don't get the Bowie Jagger reference but I have to say that the girl with the skinhead cut is stunning and I enjoyed the film.
