  1. Richard, I'll try and explain what I'm on about. I've definitely had one, I think I've had two. But I know I've had 3 Jimmy Macks, and that always sells for more than Tony Hester, but it's not really rare is it? Now I know I've only ever had one Gambrells, I rate that as twice as hard as Jimmy Mack but it's only half the price. So some records really stick in your mind, others, you just have for a few days and they are gone..Mr. Lucky, sold for 3K plus, but I couldn't tell you how it goes...
  2. Why not, it's not a big deal...not exactly the Salvadors or del Larks I sold the other week, is it? But hey if you want to give me £500 for the next one, you're welcome, everyone else can have it for £300.
  3. You know when you have records for years and years and never bother playing them...here's one...on UK Atco...how good is this??? (UK title Look At That Girl)
  4. And of course there's the fact that Ebay have consistently sh*t on their customers for years but constantly raising their percentages, making it difficult for sellers who get stuck with dishonest buyers, taking away the right to leave anything but positive feedback. Who'd want to sell on there?
  5. It's been made into a Soul Source article here:
  6. Mike I have to be honest - I totally forgot that you can leave buyers feedback - Gods honest truth.
  7. Vince - I've stopped selling on ebay for nearly a year now. I have a permanent stock of between 1500 and 2000 records on Discogs which cost me zero to list, and I pay them 7% when I sell something. I've sold 989 records on there since last August. Most is stuff that would never have sold out of a sales box or on ebay. It shows you how many copies are for sale of each title, and who's selling them.
  8. Yeah it would be great if I could remember every one of the 50,000 records I've sold and how much they all sold for.
  9. UK black LIberty is £25 tops :-) but I know what you mean. Most American records issued in the UK were minor hits (or big hits) in the USA. But when issued here, they didn't get airplay and just flopped, consequently hundreds and in some cases thousands more USA copies were sold then UK. Spiral Starecase went top 10 in the USA but sold about 8 copies in the UK on CBS.
  10. Of course I've sold a copy. Other people get 'rare' records as well. They just stick a sensible set sale price on them.
  11. Great, thank you!
  12. I thought it was double actual price!
  13. I should really know this, and I expect the answer is no, but I have two questions about Ebay searches. 1) Can you search by item with most bidders in a particular category? 2) Can you do a search for say Northern Soul but exclude certain sellers?
  14. What did you think, looks the dogs doesn't it?
  15. I thought Kaddo Strings was the artist credit on that bootleg? Both sides credited to LA Power & Light? * no, definitely credited to Kaddo Strings on the label
  16. It is indeed the Kaddo Strings version.
  17. get one of the new counterfeits, stick it in a Columbia sleeve, you simply cannot tell the difference (until you take it out and there's no milling round the label)
  18. That Earl Okin version is complete sh*te...so slow and boring.
  19. If you haven't heard of this before, it's a website I put together of something I always wanted to discover myself on the net: a massive collection of rare records to simply browse through. So failing to find one, I made my own! About 50% of the records have reviews to. So if you fancy something to look at during your lunch hour or whatever, please go have a look at my website, it's all free :-) and if you are a UK label collector, I'd take a box of tissues with you if I were you https://lostvinylgemsofthe60s.blogspot.co.uk/ UPDATE TO THE LOST VINYL GEMS OF THE 60'S BLOGSITE THAT I RUN: PICS AND REVIEWS... SHARON SOUL (STATESIDE) SIR SCORCHER (JANDISC) THE PARAGONS (TREASURE ISLE) KEN BOOTHE (ISLAND) ALTON ELLIS (LORD KOOS) BABA BROOKS (RIO) DAVE BARKER (ESCORT) YOU CAN LOSE YOURSELF IN RARE RECORDS FOR THE 60'S FOR AN HOUR...
  20. No I think a few copies came out originally with no reference to Boogie Man Orchestra!
  21. I sold this on Discogs but unfortunately I'd already sold it but forgot to remove it, so can anyone send a customer of mine an EX copy of THE AD LIBS - NOTHING WORSE THAN BEING ALONE - SHARE and I'll settle up with you, I charged him £10 for it, I've usually got a couple of them but typically, not this time. many thanks if anyone can help.
  22. Was trying to read the writing at the top of the label, Ontario?
