Thats the standard price, 90% of all my records cost that to post (thats up to 3 records in one mailer). They just weight one and say how many have you got, don't even weigh the rest.

I found a copy of The Loser (Derrick Harriott) on ebay last week, buy it now £15 (listed as the other side) so obviously I bought it like a flash, then I noticed the postage, £5.60! So I said look, it's saying £5.60 postage, will you refund the difference and the seller said yes of course, it arrived in a beat up old Amazon mailer, not recorded, 90p stamp on it, no sign of my refund. Five days later, I have asked about my refund but still nothing. So I'm wondering, do I just celebrate getting the record so cheap and take it on the chin, or leave them a negative for ripping people off with postage!

Trouble is, it's so long ago now - people don't believe it when I saw we used to buy John Bowie, Admirations (Paree) and Ringleaders for £3 each from Pep - but he had so many copies that we thought they were bootlegs/pressings. I've had them come to me in collections as pressings.

Don't think those are legal Steve, they are made to look as if they are. I don't ever remember seeing a cheap Mel Britt by the way, in reply to further back above.

There's two fakes, first one, vinyl, this is really scarce and was the first one that fooled everyone. It has a stamped ztsc matrix but it's not quite straight. Second one, done from the same plates as that one, is on styrene, again stamped, but easy to tell by the white outer ring. First one definitely has a PB scratched in, second probably does but haven't got one here to look at. The stripes on the original are more "orangey" as well.

Ronnie McNair should have a stamp in the run off and proper logo. £600 - £800 Mel Britt, make sure it's not got a thin white outer circle edge of the label. They all have proper stamps but the fake one isn't quite straight and also there's probably the initials PB in the run off somewhere. If real £1000

THE MID KNIGHTS — SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE NEEDS YOU — WARNER BROS NM 125 Cracking blue eyed version, Canada only release, went for £150 recently Some wounded records at decent prices ED HENRY & THE NICKELS & 3 PENNIES — I LOVE ONLY YOU — NU SOUND DEMO VG 30 Have graded this lower because it has a nasty mark on it, apart from some very minor crackle it plays fine JERRY GANEY — JUST A FOOL — VERVE 50 This is a super rare stock copy, but it has a small crack (about 1cm) which has been taped on the B side — Just A Fool plays as if there’s nothing wrong with it. First issue I’ve ever had. THE GEES — IT’S ALL OVER — PORT VG+ 30 Nothing wrong with this really, just looks like it’s had a few plays, plays EX THE TYMES — HERE SHE COMES — PARKWAY DEMO 30 This is another one with a crack, but the crack is in the run off groove and about 2 mm into the fade out — there is no click at all and it looks and plays mint WILLIE & THE HANDJIVES — GOTTA FIND A NEW LOVE — VEEP VG++ 30 SOLD Nothing wrong with this at all apart from scuff marks and a name on label T.D.
