  1. Just to announce that the auction for the John & The Wierdest "Can't Get Over These Memories" / "No Time" original will end tomorrow at 7PM. Current top bid is £1250. If anyone else wants to bid, the increment is £50. The original thread with scans and full sound clips is here many thanks Pete p.s. if anyone wants to phone my number is 01902 326306
  2. Ruperts round here were Prince Of Wales check, not baggy.
  3. Sounds like what happens anyway; someone puts on a soul do and invites all his mates to DJ
  4. BIG 50 — REGGAE REVIVE SPECTACULAR Every 6 weeks or so I get the old Citronic double decks out and do a live mix, this one is two for the price of one really as I got a bit carried away with the cider and fags flowing and ending up doing a 2 hour plus mix. Everything is off vinyl so apologies for the sound quality on some of the tracks, a bit of snap, crackle and pop makes it more authentic though I reckon. 5. The fiddly bit is finding the original place where it was posted and copying the url, in that url is a number and that's what you have to paste in, it's actually quite easy but Rob, I just tried to leave feedback for you and ridiculously, I couldn't find my original post!
  6. When you upload a mix to mixcloud, after a few days they start sending you emails exactly like this one I got 5 minutes ago: (but in html obviously) doesn't really mean anything, first time I was told I was number 1 in the reggae charts I was chuffed then I realised that every one I did was getting to number 1 probably anything over 300 listens gets you up there. Congratulations You're 2nd in the Northern Soul chart! OLD SCHOOL NORTHERN SOUL PART 6 OLD SCHOOL NORTHERN SOUL PART 6 is now 4th in the Northern Soul chart. 7. From his collection I got Monique - If you love me, Lonnie Russ - Say Girl, Rotations - Drop a dime on D9, Sam Williams - Love slipped through my fingers.
  8. I had 4 of the top 5 the other day, it was like The Beatles in the USA in 1964
  9. I don't care if people leave me feedback or not. I know I've done a good deal with the buyer, and so does the buyer. If he doesn't send the record back, then I know it's ok. Sometimes people return records for no reason whatsoever...usually because they had a deal set up with the reciord they were buying, moving it on at a profit. This deal breaks down and they are stuck with a record they don't want, so they make something up. I don't leave them negative, I just remove them from my list or tell them the record has gone if they ever ask again.
  10. Don't think it was made for the show, they wouldn't have put it out on a cd single with all the remixes if that were the case. Probably.
  11. Is it from the Phillipines, if so, I think there are a couple.
  12. I'd best got on with part 7 then!
  13. Show me...if you said it was stamped why would I say it was a boot?
  14. Four I think Two Polydor in the 60's Then on Mojo Then on plastic label Polydor
  15. It's at £1200 but someone's just said they'd go £1250 so it's £1250 now. Am thinking maybe next tuesday or wednesday but I'll make a definite announcement tomorrow if possible.
  16. There were, until cd's came along, I had full runs of Soul Supply and Kent lp's a couple of times, they were absolutely essential when they came out, but cd's just blew them away really.
  17. There aren't that many that you couldn't get for £15 or under though Jim.

  20. That Ed Crook is actually an original apparently, Nashville Matrix stamped, shame about the A
  21. No I know you weren't mate, and it is actually funny thinking that red A was real!
  22. He's a nice guy that runs that place but he (obviously) doesn't know anything about Northern and Reggae. he gave me some great tips about local auctions once, so I'm happy to tell him he's made a mistake there.
  23. Thanks for passing that on, that's a real shame. That archive stuff was fascinating and the more knowledgeable people we have, the better.
  24. This yellow one is stamped, as follows TA 0 10 A then a gap and a stamp which looks like a circle with a triangle below it entering the circle, this is the stamp to look for then another gap and R-3211 p.s. I don't sell reissues as originals!
  25. John I don't know where you are hanging out these days but I would love it if you would come back and post up more stuff like this as you used to, always fascinating and interesting and it's really missed I think.
