  1. I was thinking the same, knew it wasn't Lance, Milsap, Bernard. I think we'll say it is for definite. Cheers.
  2. II’ve dug another Casino tape out, this one has never been uploaded anywhere before because I had so much work to do on it. The problem was that the mic picked up a lot of talking, and I am presuming much of it was gear related, so at some point 35 years ago I recorded over those parts with music (in case my parents heard). I had to listen to the lot and then cut the music parts out to try and get some semblance of a decent recording. Actually some of the talking is quite funny, I can hear myself, Karen Chilton, Geoff Brittan, Steve Kelly, Tom Brosnan, and other people are mentioned so us Wombournites were out in force that night. What I like about this tape is that we were almost first in, so the atmosphere, quiet at first, just builds and builds until the place is rocking. The tape speeds up towards the end when the batteries are going, but listen to the reaction when “Send Him Back” starts, right at the end, it sounds like mass hysteria breaking out! DJ throughout is Russ Winstanley. 3. Something to do with three girls at a holiday camp I think, probably a murder somewhere along the line, about a month back there was a topic about it on here (may have been raised by me) about a piece of music used in it, a modern day NS recreation, I'll try and find it
  4. Don't forget there's been two NS features on that show, might have been the other one?
  5. Car gone to the big scrapyard in the sky mate sorry...
  6. Thanks a lot Stu, I really appreciate that
  7. I'd like it! Wouldn't actually buy it, but it's a record I do like. £400 about right I think.
  8. That's quite sad to see really, the whole thrill of collecting used to be in searching out the record, finding it, getting it as cheap as possible, but the thrill of the chase was always the main thing for me. I don't think I'd enjoy sitting at home with a wallet stacked up to the ceiling going "that one, that one, that one" without giving a second thought to how much it was going to cost me. Nice position to be in, but collecting the lazy way.
  9. Yellow demo of Spyder Turner coming up from me soon...
  10. Surely more than likely to have a pic sleeve on the promos I'd have thought?
  11. I've got an instrumental version of this

  14. I was living down South Jock so I only know what was going on in such exotic locations as Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings, Herne Bay, Torquay, Plymouth and London, apart from when we came back for a weekend very few months and I was able to go to somewhere in the Midlands local to Wolverhampton. Went to Keele. I've never claimed to have gone to Stafford apart from alldayers. I kept in touch via tapes and word of mouth. But if the qualification for being 'on the scene' is attending allnighters every week, then no, I fail there. Have you still got me on PM block because I sent you some info about the Salvadors you asked about the other week, the one that I sold.
  15. Well which one is it, we've got people telling us there were 1500 people in venues, and you're saying everyone knew everybody else because the scene was small.
  16. That's as low as I'm going at the moment Steve. If they don't sell, they'll be reduced next time they come round in a few weeks. Your other record is well on it's way now by the way.
  17. Good price if it was an issue Julian!
  18. If Kev Roberts wasn't on the scene in the 80's, just wondering how did he manage to put out something like 16 volumes of the Northern Soul Story double albums and a few Modern ones too, from 1986 onwards, all of which had at least 20% current or recent biggies on them? How did he know what tracks to put on?

  20. Of all the records to make the hairs on my arms stand up - The Tams "Hey girl don't bother me" - oh my God, the clapping, the atmosphere, almost had me in tears - not played this tape for over 15 years
  21. As does the knock on effect which is to prompt clueless sellers to suddenly matchg the prices that the records sold in auction, and 6 months along the line, they become almost the accepted prices - meanwhile people like me selling them at what I regard as the fair price are told they're "giving" stuff away selling it so cheaply. So what? Moaning because you're getting a bargain?
  22. Sorry there's been no podcasts lately, I've still got no proper broadband, if anyone knows how I can sue BT please let me know, anyway I have a few meg left on a dongle so thought I'd upload a classic Casino tape for you, great oldies anniversary night towards the end of Wigan Casino, brilliant atmosphere, dj's are Keith Minshull and Brian Rae - 90 minutes long - I know you'll enjoy this one. 23. As I say, I rate it at half that price and the issue less. And prove it by selling it for that. UK demo £400 maybe. But Williams & Watson, really, there was a lad on here a fortnight back trying to get £125 for it so I thought well I've got this for £50 at the moment, I wonder if I could get £75 (which I did). I maintain that is the 'correct' price.
  24. Oh dear. I sold a Williams & Watson demo in pic sleeve for £75 and a Ray Pollard same as this for £150 two weeks ago. These auction bidders really do have more money than sense don't they.
